Revlon Age Defying Targeted Dark Spot Concealer Treatment Review & Swatches

Revlon Age Defying Targeted Dark Spot Concealer Treatment ($9.99) is a new concealer that recently launched along with the new Revlon Age Defying Foundation that’s available in four shades.

The concept and idea of this concealer sounds very much like Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Spot Concealer + Treatment.

Let’s take a look!

Unfortunately I haven’t been using Revlon Age Defying Targeted Dark Spot Concealer Treatment long enough to tell you whether or not it has done any greater good for my dark spots. I will say I’ve been using Maybelline version for several months but again I’ve never seen an improvement on my dark spots in that time so unsure whether the Revlon formula will prove any different.

Aside from Licorice Root extract there wasn’t really anything in the ingredients that would treat dark spots or hyper pigmentation.

On that note….

I decided to try out Revlon Age Defying Targeted Dark Spot Concealer Treatment because I’m a concealer junkie. I’m always looking for the next big deal in the concealer world. I realize it isn’t meant for under your eyes but I went ahead and tried it there as well as on my face. I don’t typically use concealer anywhere on my face and rely on it for under eye prepping. However, for the sake of the review I did try it on my face.

It’s a better concealer on your face than it will be under your eyes. It’s a touch to drying under eyes and it sets super, super quickly which gives you very little time to blend under eyes which results in some tugging and a drier finish. I can see it being a fairly good concealer for face as it blends to a soft, satiny finish but the pigmentation is a bit subtle here so if you have minor blemishes to conceal it’ll do the trick but for bigger problem areas such as redness, ruddiness, or even acne scarring this isn’t likely to do well at concealing.

The sponge tip applicator is very handle as squeezing the tube allows the concealer to flow into the sponge and you can simply swipe on from there much like Maybelline’s version. However, the sponge isn’t removable and over time, well, you can imagine it’ll get rather gross and grungy.

I tried too shades Light Medium and Medium but both were fairly similar although the Light Medium had a bit more yellow to it compared to Medium which had more beige.

Overall, Revlon Age Defying Targeted Dark Spot Concealer Treatment isn’t really something you need to pick up. The concealer is a bit too sheer and dry for my liking and limited to your face which makes it a bit lacking.

You can safely skip it I’d say.

This is a bit OT, but if you had to recommend one concealer for the undereye area, that is primarily moisturizing, and pigmentation isn’t an issue, what would you say? I’m fortunate enough to not have darkness under the eyes, but there are days I need a bit of brightening, and I like the feeling of extra moisture. I used one from L’Oréal for many years a while back, but it’s been long DCd. TIA

is money a problem? if not Clé de Peau is expensive and over hyped but it has fairly great coverage, pigmented, and the brightening and moisture you might seek!

I don’t know if amy is still reading, but what about the Revlon Photoready, Muse? From your review you said it was very hydrating but not pigmented enough. Sounds like what amy is looking for here.
