Shills Super Magic BB Cream Review & Swatches

Shills Super Magic BB Cream

Shills Super Magic BB Cream ($10) is probably one of the first BB Creams I tried many years ago and it still remains a favorite of mine! This multifunction formula brightens, hydrates, and restores vitality to my duller, tired skin!

Do love!

Shills BB Cream

I have so many BB Creams in rotation it is absurd but I always come back to my favorites and Shills Super Magic BB Cream is one! This rich, creamy formula blends easily onto skin providing buildable medium coverage with a soft, supple dry down that doesn’t cling to my drier skin and creates a picture perfect airbrushed finish.

I really love how light and fresh this formula is yet the texture is so rich and creamy! The gel-like consistency has a moisturizing feel but the finish dries to a soft satin. It wears for a solid twelve hours even on a humid New York day.

Problem…

It’s only available in one shade and unlike many Asian BB Creams it doesn’t quite adapt to skin tone well. It has cooler pink undertones which unfortunately puts on a limit on who can use it. It’s a touch pasty on me so I blend in a little dab of another BB Cream that’s darker and I’m good to go!

Needless to say I love how this eases my dull skin and creates a beautiful brighter appearance. And the wear time is to be raved! If you fit the shade I highly recommend it.

Great stuff!

They probably only have the one whitish shade that doesn’t color match because in many Asian countries it is a beauty norm to try to lighten and whiten your skin, as that is what’s considered more attractive (ie. Geishas). Same reason they list “Whitening” on their packaging, which would never fly in our country.

Not necessarily. Most Asian BB Creams are color adapting and only one shade. As for the whitening, yes that’s true as a whiter complexion is considered more youthful. The actually whitening is due to ingredients in the formula in most cases though they rely on titanium dioxide to brighten…it’s odd but that’s the ingredient they are using 75% of the time when they market a BB Cream as whitening. I’ve been covering Asian beauty, skincare, and cosmetics on my blog for over six years now and def run across some interesting things 🙂

I realize a lot of time the “whitening” part is actually the white cast from titanium dioxide or zinc oxide in the formulation, which is considered to be unappealing over here in the States.
But they do love that white cast over the ones that actually come closer to their skin tone. I can pull off that white cast in the winter, but not in the summer.

You had me at “It wears for a solid twelve hours even on a humid New York day.” Now, if you can replace “humid New York” with “godawful, sweltering, humid Georgia,” then I’m totally in, lol!

lol shadia can’t say I tried it down in georgia but maybe the cast of the walking dead can give it a go!?

This sounds amazing, I wish it was darker, I’m actually planning on buying the new skin79 Bronze Bb cream, which is for darker skintones & mixing it with all the bb creams I have that are too light for me. I’m a medium skintone, between NC30-35. Have you seen it? They also have a new green one & a purple bb out now.

I have been using the shills super magic bb cream just about everyday since my late 30’s (now 44) I’m a farmer and work outside in the hot California sun so I use it as a sunblock. My skin is in pretty good shape for my age and I credit it to this product. I switched to it because it advertises natural ingredients. But I would love to know what those ingredients are since none of that info is in English. I’m hoping that you or perhaps one of your readers know.
