Sonia Kashuk Matte Red Lipstick Review and Swatches
You must own the new, limited edition Sonia Kashuk Matte Red Lipstick ($10.99). This gorgeous bright matte red lipstick is available with the Sonia Kashuk Holiday 2013 Collection at Target and Target.com.
It’s probably the best 11 bucks I’ve spent recently and I think if you’re a red lipstick kinda gal you NEED it.
I was a little scared of Sonia Kashuk Matte Red Lipstick because I tend to look like a clown in red. But thankfully this isn’t a blue based red. It definitely has a more warmer element to it and is a traditional, festive red.
The creamy texture glides onto lips without tugging and has a beautiful matte finish that isn’t drying or too heavy. I typically like shimmery lip products but this matte wore comfortably on my drier lips for a solid six hours without losing intensity or fading. But user beware it does like to migrate around a bit so a lip liner wouldn’t hurt. It’s richly pigmented and provides opaque color with a single application but hell, build up for real sizzle and pop (below I’m wearing a single application, see what I mean? Crazy pigmented right?!). As color begins to fade it leaves a staining effect behind.
The lipstick comes in a cream tube with gold accents that matches up with the new Sonia Kashuk Lavish Luxe Brush Set.
The rich velvety texture is an absolute joy to use and wear and apparently it is infused with Vitis Vita, a skincare active ingredient derived from the renowned Italian wine industry, the formula contains Aglianico Grape Marc Extract, delivering a triple anti-aging effect, stimulating collagen production, improving cell detoxification and hydrating lips with hyaluronic acid.
Pair it up with the Sonia Kashuk Eye On Neutral Matte/Shimmer Holiday Eyeshadow Palette and you’ll have yourself a Merry little Christmas indeed.
Sonia Kashuk Matte Red Lipstick is a must have delightfully seasonal shade of red that will work all year round and give lips that classic, traditional old Hollywood glam red pout!
