Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips 3

Did you hear that Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips has finally launched in the US? Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips ($1.99) is available at mass retailers and drugstores this November and I couldn’t be happier.

This tiny, ickle little jar of Vaseline has a rosy tint with a berry vanilla flavor to keep dry lips super moist and hydrated all Winter long.

Take a peek!

Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips 7

If you like Rosebud Salve you’re sure to adore this little pot of Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips!

My mom raised us on Vicks and Vaseline. She was like the dad in My Big Fat Greek Wedding! Always toting around pots of Vaseline and Vicks proclaiming it was a cure all for everything. She does actually! If she calls and I have a sore throat or I sound stuffy right away she’ll tell me to rub Vicks all over my body from toes to the tip of my head and don’t forget the slather Vaseline under and around my nose to keep it from getting chapped and raw during a cold.

Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips 2

Oh lawd.

I love that lady but sometimes….

Needless to say I’ve been applying it on my lips for years. It keeps them smooth, soft, hydrated, and I totally believe it does wonders for my chapped lips. So of course, when Vaseline told me that there would be a new Rosy Lips version I was excited! This launched in the UK about a year or so ago and I was skeptical we’d ever see it here in the US but so happy to report it is now available. The color is sheer so you’re not going to get a ton of tint from it but it does give lips a nice glossy finish, keeps them protected and hydrated, plus you get that little hint of rose that looks quite pretty! And it tastes rather lovely too (berries and vanilla mmmm!).

The pot is really small but you can of course use it on other areas as well just like Rosebud Salve it multitasks. Under your eyes (Jennifer Aniston swears by it), on your cuticles, on your elbows and knees, mix it with sugar to create a lip scrub, the uses are endless.

I’m loving this little pot of Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips that’s happily living in my desk drawer at the moment. Now I need to stock up on more for my makeup bag, on my vanity, my night table…..

I don’t know why I’m so excited about this, but I am. My mom also passed along to me the belief that Vaseline and Vicks can cure just about anything!

  • Vanessa

My mom is the same! She swears that you can use Vicks for everything (bruises, bumps, mosquito bites, achy muscles, etc.)

  • Lacy

Just picked this up at target today! I LOVE rosebud salve and have multiple tins all over, so I figured I’d give this a go at only 1.99 and I’m digging it. It’s a bit thicker than the rosebud salve as I’m use to but it feels great on my lips and I don’t feel the need to reapply as often as I do the salve. And it gives just the sheerest tint of color, just warms the lips up a tad and gives them a nice look. To me it has a bit of a stronger rose smell to it vs the salve but it could just be me as I am sensitive to fragrances but it hasn’t given me a headache all day so we’re in the clear! 🙂 Yay for being available in the US. I’m a chapstick junkie so there’s one around every corner in my house hehe. Thinking this may be a good stocking stuffer for my sister in law as she is also a rosebud salve fan.

Oh my god you just described my grandma! LOL She’s pretty damn sure Vicks and Asorbine Jr. will fix anything haha vicks if your sick, asorbine for any pain. Maybe some asprin if you think you’re on death’s door. I’ll never forget I scraped my leg on something and it cut my leg pretty bad, not bad enough for stitches but still an open wound and she told me to put asorbine jr on it! It would have burnt like hell! Gotta love her 😉

  • Delaney

I just picked mine up!! It’s so cute! It reminds me of benefit’s benetint lip balm! Less of a color pay of but just as good!

  • Christina

Wow, Muse! If this product is just ever so slightly tinted, does that mean that your lips are naturally this rosey? How lucky! My lips are so pale…

    • the Muse

hey Christina that’s pretty much my natural lip color they are actually deeper this nudes them out slightly..I hate it I wish I had pale lips! Means you can wear lip colors easily 😀

  • Zoë

oh man this is so cute and lovely and the scent sounds amazing… will you ever come to Canada my friend? 🙁

  • Michelle

Haha, too funny! My mom is all about the Vicks too. It evidently works for coughs, soar throats and colds of all sorts. If you’re feeling under the weather, it’s Vicks to the rescue! 🙂

  • Libby

My mom and your mom must have read the same mom guide book or something, Muse! Whenever I used to get a cold, my mom would get out the Vicks and Vaseline and slather it on for me xD Nowadays, I still have the same habit but I find that wearing an overnight mask around the nose does the trick better than vaseline, hahaha. I’m a major nose-blower.

I cannot wait to snap up this though! Totally going to pick one up for my mom as well. Thanks for heads up, Muse 🙂 Stay warm this week so you don’t catch a cold ;D

    • the Muse

LOL libby! must be part of Mom 101 lol! 😀 YOU TOO! I actually already got one, soon as I stepped off the plane from California and my chucks hit New York concrete the germs set in 😀 Had a nasty little cold for a several days thankfully it is finally gone ;-D

  • grissbear

I bought this yesterday and I cannot get enough! Its so cheap and works wonders. My lips will not be dry this winter. I am also contemplating getting it for my desk, my purse, my vanity, etc. LOL!

  • Candace

I’ve got the UK version, and that’s probably good as frankly I don’t know if I’d buy this! It seems much less pigmented than the UK one, which is also noticeably more pink, and opaque in the packaging rather than translucent. This packaging also seems kind of unwieldy – what a weird shape! I believe that the product itself is awesome, as I have three of the UK ones myself, but in my opinion this one loses out to the original.

I’m wondering what could account for the differences in color… do you know if maybe they have different formulations?

  • Chi ơi

At first glance I was totally struck by the tiny size! Wonder how it actual smells on my lips hehe. Nevertheless I am still sitting on the fence for I have heard lots of rumors about the amount of harmful petroleum jelly they put in this product 🙁

  • Amicia Rai

That is the cutest little Vaseline packaging EVER! 😀
Seriously, it’s only after I saw the picture of it next to a coin that went “awwwww”. I need to get one! XD

  • Teiva

I wish that it was in tin instead of that mini Vaseline pot, though. it’s going to be tough to get out easily when it’s been used up some.

  • CatG

I love the Vaseline Lip Therapy stuff!!! I’ve never tried this but I use the plain one every day and put it on my lips every night too!

  • kimmyyy

While the petroleum jelly in Vaseline is supposedly more “refined”, I just can’t bring myself to put petroleum on my face. It comes from crude oil…that can’t possibly be good for you.
Did you know that petroleum can actually cause pneumonia if it gets into your lungs? How scary is that??
Sorry, but I don’t like Vaseline much more than I like Chapstick. :\

  • Renee

I love the other versions of this lip balm. I have to admit, it is partly because that little jar is so dang cute.. My Mom used Campho-phenique and A&D Ointment (ewee)for everything possible. Must have worked, we are alive and well today..

  • MalinVaine

I love Vicks! I am not a Mom, and my Mother was not a big user of it, so I don’t know where my love comes from. I keep a huge jar by my bed. Congestion–rub on chest; stuffy nose–rub under nose; coughing–rub on the soles of the feet (it sounds weird, but I swear it works). I also use it for sore muscles. It is wonderful. I might have a problem…

  • Sarah

I LOVE these!! When I saw them I scooped put 4 (buy 1 get one 50% off at Walgreens at the time) and gave 3 away….Love everything about these cute little lip balms!!
Kimmyyy: just curious, where are fact checking from? There is no proof sustainable or not, that petroleum jelly contains PAH (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) nor does it contain hormone compromising paragons (estrogens) or formaldehyde…so while it should certainly not be eaten or snorted, I just don’t see the inherent danger you’re talking about. But would love to see where you got your info, cuz we’re all always trying to educate ourselves to be better consumers 🙂

    • kimmyyy

Oh, I honestly didn’t mean to act like I knew exactly what I was talking about, lol. I’ve just read lots of articles over the years about petroleum jelly and I’m kind of a freak about it now. I’ll gladly post the links to some of the more recent articles I’ve found, but like I said, not trying to act like I know it all! I will say that I’ve read Vaseline makes extra sure their petroleum jelly is as safe as it could be, and since you asked me this, I’ve read more into it and found out a little more about it. It’s not as bad as I thought.
When it comes to the pneumonia thing, I’ve just read that if it actually gets into your lungs(as in, the actual jelly) it can cause lipid pneumonia. They say that’s really only something that’s possible if you apply it daily.
As for the hormones or formaldehyde, I definitely didn’t mention any of that, so I’m unsure about those! I just know that petroleum jelly supposedly does nothing but put a coating over skin and lock in what moisture you already have, while preventing anything from giving it more moisture, but does nothing to actually heal or moisturize skin. I just don’t see the point in using it when their are so many better options out there! 😉

The writers of these articles are obviously not experts, so I suppose I should only take what they say with a grain of salt!

Here’s an article dispelling rumors about it being bad, so mayhaps I was wrong!

Btw, sorry for the links Muse! Hopefully this is okay.

no prob at all thanks for the helpful links! I just unspammed your comment 🙂 the links made the comment head into my spam box but thankfully I caught it before I deleted the entire bulk of the spam folder 😀

  • Monica

Thank you for the heads up Muse! I purchased one yesterday and I can’t get enough of it! So perfect for this time of year 🙂

  • Alison

Where did you find this? I looked in target rite aid and cvs by the chapsticks and can’t find it 🙁

    • the Muse

I received a press sample for review Alison but recently purchased two of them at Walgreens. perhaps check there?

  • Stacey

Love the review and plan to go to Walgreens to get some!

By the way, my mom touted the benefits of Vaseline, too. That’s why I use it today (on my lips, under my nose…and around my eyes at night)! But my mom was a Mentholatum lady! 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

Mentholatum, vicks, all the same haha…I swear my mom thinks vicks is going to cure the world of every single disease and illness ;-D

  • teresa deiter

how do i get free samples these things rosebud salve, etude house rose tint lip review @swatches

  • Jen

I bought a multipack with the pots of rosy tint, the creme brulee and regular vaseline. Had a bad reaction after a few days of using it. Lips are sore, feel dry and are slightly swollen with tiny red bumps on them. I must be allergic. Shame because I really like these.

  • Joanna Nankumba

Vaseline pink lip therapy is the best. I apply it in the night while going to sleep, it changes my lip color from dark to pink. During day, I dont use it , I just have natural pink lips , I dont need to apply lip stick since the lips are already colored.

    Thank you for this invention
