Bath & Body Works Forever Red Vanilla Rum Review

Bath & Body Works Forever Red Vanilla Rum

Bath & Body Works Forever Red Vanilla Rum Eau de Parfum arrives just in time for Holiday 2013 gifting. I do believe the Bath & Body Works Forever Red Collection is possibly one of the better fragrances the brand has released in recent years.

Mind you, I’m not terribly keen on it myself but there isn’t any denying it is unique especially in the world of repetitive Bath & Body Works fragrances. Plus it is affordable. It’s quite a complex fragrance with an excellent throw and wear time so at this price there is something to be said about this collection.

Upon launching Forever Red Vanilla Rum I had some reservations because I didn’t really like the original Forever Red.

Take a look!

I do think Bath & Body Works makes one major mistake with Forever Red Vanilla Rum that you probably guessed that would be the repetitive notes you’ll smell here. For me it has a slight twist but for the most part the scent quite reminds me of Forever Red with very minor differences.

This is a scent full on exotic floral but also very musky. It has elements of Black Cashmere Woods (which is the note that I smell the most on the dry down) mixed with vanilla rum, musk, and floral notes of jasmine, gardenia, apricot, mandarin, and black lily.

I think the element of creamy vanilla rum is very dominate in the fragrance and that could be why it smells so very similar to the original Forever Red formula.

It’s exotic, it’s sultry, it has an excellent throw, and a beautiful linger and the endless sells at Bath & Body Works makes this an afford luxurious.

I didn’t love Forever Red Vanilla Rum but there isn’t any deny the quality that goes into making these fragrances so props to Bath & Body Works for that!

I look forward to seeing what Bath & Body Works comes out with for 2014!

I bought this on Tues and brought it back the very next day. I really wanted to love this fragrance..I love vanilla. To me, it smelled like bug spray. Was very disappointed.

whoa didn’t get the bug spray element, I thought it was nice but wasn’t quite something I loved…! it’s complex that’s for sure. But I understand, a few reader’s related the original Forever Red smelling like bug spray lol!

I think I may just be “growing out” of B&BW’s scents (or something), but this one was just not quite right to my nose- like I ALMOST liked it, but not 100%. I kind of felt that way with all of the new ‘Forever’ scents.

it’s not quite me either. It is complex and unique for BBW as many of their scents lean towards playful, this is far richer but….that being said, I really didn’t adore it.

I smelled it, liked it, and am hoping it comes out in body lotion eventually. The body cream is too heavy for me. My local shop currently only has the cream and perfumes.

Just bought this at the Semi-Annual sale for $4-I like it so far, but for the price, who cares? 😉
