Bobbi Brown Rose Gold Shimmer Wash Eyeshadow 1

I have this slight obsession with golden pinks and I thought Bobbi Brown Rose Gold Shimmer Wash Eyeshadow ($21) would fill my need for more golden pink shadow.

Every girl needs at least ten variations of a good golden pink right?

Not really but I can never resist Bobbi Brown!

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eyeshadow are a deceiving little formula because they aren’t technically a shimmer. The finish is more of a smooth, soft satin. There isn’t chunky pieces of glitter, sparkle, or shimmer anywhere to be had in this formula. You have to remember Bobbi creates her makeup for all ages but specifically for a more mature eye and that shines through with this formula. It applies like a dream, blends easily, and wears quite strong on my dry eyes without creasing or fading.

Bobbi Brown Rose Gold Shimmer Wash Eyeshadow Swatches

I hauled Rose Gold recently because it was one of the few Shimmer Wash Eyeshadows I didn’t already own. This is a really lovely shade of dusky darkened rose. It has a strong brown element to it but Bobbi refers to it as a golden pink. I don’t necessarily get the golden pink on swatch or even looking at it in the pan but once it’s applied it has a very golden pink looks that quite reminds me of a lighter MAC Expensive Pink.

If you’re looking for a wearable shade of pink that works beautifully with fresher shades of peach or pink cheeks Bobbi Brown Rose Gold Shimmer Wash Eyeshadow is perfect!

Very pretty! Question: Bobbi Brown or Laura Mercier- which line would you want on a deserted island and why.

I can never say no to Bobbi Brown too!
I have rose-gold in cream shadow pot and it’s one of my favourite shade, such a pity the cream shadow was a LE. 🙁

judy I am so jealous always wanted it (I think it came in a kit right?) and never got my hands on it 😀 and thanks 🙂 you’re too sweet!

oooh, that’s beautiful! thanks for the review and swatches b/c it really does look a LOT different in swatches. In the pan, it looks matte to me. I like that shimmery finish. Thank you for swatching it!

mmmm maybe…It wouldn’t look great on me prob too dusky but on the right skin tone yeah maybe 🙂

Didn’t have high hopes from the pan color & swatch but wow that is gorgeous on application! I must widen my makeup horizon and get over my negative associations with the Bobbi Brown brand. MAC too, for that matter. Thanks Musey!

Bobbi Brown negativity came from my bad experience using the color corrector, epic caking! I was super excited about that product coz if the shade worked I only needed one product for my undereye area. The shade did work, but the formula… sigh. Plus the brand conjures a kind of old lady, almost musty basement image for me. How am I supposed to stay in denial of my age with that?!? LOL

MAC I associate with a mask-like appearance. I know, I know, that depends on the user. Its just that most people I know who use MAC kinda have an unreal wax doll look because they have totally obliterated the texture of their skin.

aw that sucks. You really need to sheer her concealer/correctors out as they are very emollient. LOL ;D I def don’t get them from Bobbi but do from EL ;-D mmm mac foundation gives me that feeling but not so much the promotional images!

          • Joy

I tried many ways to make the corrector work (different application technique, brushes, skin prep, etc.) but it was still a no go. Strange animal, that one. So emollient, as you say, and yet half an hour later ugh so dry-looking.

You’re right about the MAC promo images. And yes its the foundation products. I greatly appreciate the MAC shade system though, its very useful to have that “language”. Oh and I adore my 217’s!

To other people who may be reading this, I mean no offense if you are a fan of those brands. To each her own! Makeup is supposed to be fun and I feel if you are having fun that’s what matters. And hey if you are happy with those brands, yay you for making it work 😀

aw man sorry girl! that sucks! I don’t…I dunno there shade system is so bloody off for me, SO warm and orange 🙁 they always fit me with the worst shades 🙁 you’re always so awesome joy 😀
