Chanel Fatal Illusion d’Ombre Eyeshadow Review & Swatches
Chanel Fatal Illusion dOmbre Eyeshadow (837) ($36) is one of two new, limited edition shades of shadow releases with the Nuit Infinie de Chanel Holiday 2013 Collection.
This shade quite reminds me of a MAC Pigment but I can’t remember for the very life of me what the name of the pigment is. I just know it used to be a fond favorite of mine. The color is unusual and quite gorgeous on brown eyes.
Take a peek!
Chanel Fatal Illusion dOmbre Eyeshadow are commonly associated with L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow but I find the texture considerably different as it has a mousse-like texture with a bit of a sponge-y feel with a little bounce which reminds me of the consistency of Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush. The formula is a bit of a hybrid as it’s one part cream shadow and one part mousse. They blend so easily onto lids with absolutely no tugging so application is dreamy.
The shadow has a smooth, soft satin finish that wears long and strong without creasing and fading. Chanel includes a brush for application which is a slanted eyeliner type brush but it doesn’t really do much for me during application so I tend to smooth a sponge tip applicator into the shade apply a bit on my eye and blend out with my finger.
The shade Fatal (837) is a plummy brown with soft silver shimmer and a metallic finish. The brown undertones in the shade come across strongly on my brown eyes and create a pretty sultriness on my eyes when paired with eyeliner.
This color is a stunner and unique enough to warrant a purchase. I suffer from purchasing too many shades that are too a like in my vast collection of eyeshadows but I can honestly say I don’t have many colors that match the description of Chanel Fatal Illusion dOmbre Eyeshadow! It adds mystery and beauty to eyes.
