Chanel Initiation Illusion d’Ombre Long Wear Eyeshadow Review & Swatches
Chanel Initiation Illusion dOmbre Long-Wear Eyeshadow ($36) is one of two limited edition shades that launched with the Chanel Nuit Infinie de Chanel Holiday 2013 Collection.
I thought for sure the other shade, Fatal, was by far my favorite but I have to say Illusion is just as stunning!
Chanel Initiation Illusion dOmbre Long Wear Eyeshadow is called a platinum bronze and indeed considering all the sparkle in the mix it’s platinum for sure!
At a glance it feels a bit like a golden brown but has warmth to it which makes it more of a bronze brown with silvery and gold sparkle. I loved the shade but I thought the sparkle was a little TOO much. It almost felt like I had applied a cream shadow and dusted loose sparkle or shimmer across my lid right after. If you dislike shimmer I’d avoid the shade. If you love it, well, needless to say you’ll adore Initiation.
I realize that Illusion d’Ombre Eyeshadow are commonly reference to L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow but I always feel the formula is completely different. These are more of a mousse-texture with a sponge-y bounce back consistency that reminds me of Dream Bouncy Blush. It’s part cream, part mousse, with a satiny dry down that blends easily onto lids. Typically they wear very well on my dry eyes without creasing or fading. Chanel also includes a slanted eyeliner type brush for application but I actually tend to use my finger for application!
Chanel Initiation Illusion dOmbre Long Wear Eyeshadow is a keeper shade and unique to warrant a purchase. It does have some hardcore shimmer but the color is stunning!
Loves it!
