Coastal Scents Concealer Hot Pot

Now is a good time as any to try out Coastal Scents Concealer Hot Pots (or their new Revealed Palette for $12 bucks!) because now through the 2nd of January everything is 40% Off!

Available in 10 different shades the new Coastal Scents Concealer Hot Pots offer an interchangeable way to pop concealers in and out of one of Coastal Scents 4, 12, or 28 Pan Palettes. So whether you’re a makeup artist or you wanting to play a little mad scientist mixing with your concealer this is a great way to do so on the cheap.

Take a peek at swatches of the shades below!

I don’t need 12 or 28 but the 4 pan Interchangeable Palette is an excellent pick for me to store my Coastal Scents Concealer Hot Pots in. Out of the ten shades I found five that not only worked as a concealer but also had peach or yellow undertones that were excellent for diffusing the look of dark circles and to act as correctors.

I’m always mixing a variety of concealers anyway so this gives me the option to store 4 (or I’m feeling super hero like even 12 or 28) shades in one spot so I can mix, blend, match, and get as crazy as I want to. Empty 4 Pan Palettes are merely $3.95 each with each concealer Hot Pot setting you back a mere $1.95 and on sale? $1.17! Where in the world can you get concealer at this price?

Now the important part…

The formula!

Although drier and dense I didn’t have too many issues with this one. I’d compare it to formulas like Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Concealer or the Balm Time Balm Concealer. It has a dense yet creamy texture which is best suited to oily eyes. Drier eyes like my own can make use but you’ll need to prime well and get the concealer nice and warmed up (I swatch it on the back of my hand and swipe my brush in it a few times to melt it down for easier application) prior to applying as it will tug a good deal if you aren’t careful. Prep well with eye cream to avoid it creasing into finer lines as well! It has sheerer to medium coverage and should do a good job concealing redness, darkness, finer lines, and puffiness. Although severe dark circles might want to purchase a shade or two darker to use as a corrector prior to applying your main color to conceal. The formula has a slight tackiness so it’ll stick to your eye and set well after application for a solid 7 hours of wear before showing signs of fading. During a day I was lazy prepping I experienced shorter wear time and some creasing so just be prepared to prep your eyes well if you’re drier.

I think if you enjoy drier, denser concealer formulas you’ll get on well with Hot Pots and did I mention to stupid cheap price tag?! Can’t go wrong here even if you use it just for spot concealing!

Great deal!

Overall I had pretty good success with these and didn’t mind the prepping prior! The formula concealed well for me, brightened (a very important factor for me formula wise), and had a fairly nice wear time!

If you’re looking for cheap Coastal Scents Concealer Hot Pots are a great little concealer thrill for those on a beauty budget.

What was your opinion on the Revealed palette?? I am SO tempted to give it a try!

  • Brianna

Ohhh, you got me! I had to order a couple of these. I’m hoping they’re similar to the Sonia Kashuk concealer palettes which just aren’t quite fair enough for my pale skin! These look to have much lighter shade options.

Thank you for the swatches! I love the texture of OCC’s concealer. Good to know these work well too.

Oh, thank God they changed their logo font! I have some older magnetic palettes of theirs and that huge cheesy logo always embarrassed me when I pulled them out of my bag. I am tempted to rebuy them just for the new branding!

I wish it was easier to get this brand here – I’d be interested to try some new concealers (I too am a bit of an undereye concealer junkie) for such a reasonable price. Looks like a good range of shades, too!

I am really hoping that CS restocks several things on their website. I didn’t find out about the 40% off sale until yesterday…and my excitement was short-lived when I found out that several items on my CS wishlist are out of stock. Please Coastal Scents, re-stock!

I’m new to Coastal Scents and this may have been discussed already but … do their magnetic palettes fit MAC singles and vice versa (do the coastal scents products fit in MAC palettes)? I’m dying to know!
