L’Oreal Revitalift Moisture Blur Instant Skin Smoother Review & Swatches

L'Oreal Revitalift Moisture Blur Instant Skin Smoother Moisturizer

Meet the newly formulated L’Oreal Revitalift Moisture Blur Instant Skin Smoother Moisturizer ($24.99) for the drier skin folks out there. This new 24 hour hydration formula is a new take on L’Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur Skin Smoother that released last year.

I really liked the original formula and I have drier skin so I was excited about a new hydrating formula in this product.

Let’s take a look!

I’ve been using L’Oreal Revitalift Moisture Blur Instant Skin Smoother Moisturizer for about two weeks now under my makeup and as a primer. They call it a moisturizer and it can act as a sort of lightweight moisturizer but I do prefer it as a facial primer versus a daily moisturizer. I prep my skin with SPF and moisturizer as I normally would and when I’m done with my hair I proceed to do my makeup and the first step is applying this to prep so I use it as a facial primer. Of course, it doesn’t have a good deal of moisture so it could work as a lighter moisturizer should you prefer to use it this way plus it does provide continuous moisture as the day progresses and this is surely is a very big plus.

Apparently it addresses and corrects fine lines and wrinkles over time while firming skin. It also offers Opti-Blur technology which diffuses the look of finer lines and wrinkles blurring their appearance while giving skin all day hydration. It contains the same Revitalift Pro-Retino A that can be found in many of the Revitalift Skincare products which aids in reducing fine lines and wrinkles over time.

I don’t have finer lines or wrinkles on my face just under my eyes. However, I like the original Instant Skin Smoother because it did a great job blurring the appearance of the larger pores around on my nose. I have smaller pores everywhere else but this did a nice job of blurring the appearance of the ones on my nose. I have drier skin and the original formula was quite nice. It left my skin soft, smooth, and prepped well for makeup. It also extended my foundation wear as it gave my base something to grip on to which in turn allowed it to remain fresher for longer.

I have drier skin so who am I to say no to a new formula that addresses such a problem. This isn’t as thick as the original nor does it feel as silicone-like in texture. I’d liken it to a thicker version of Clinique Superprimer Universal Face Primer. There are cones to be had here but the creamier consistency of the product absorbs easily into skin and doesn’t sit on top of skin the way a more traditional silicone face primer would. There’s plenty of moisture here…I wouldn’t say 24 hours worth but enough to keep skin smooth and hydrated through an 8 hour period especially skin that may suffering from dryness caused by aging skin. The primer gives skin a smoother appearance and it does indeed blur the appearance of the pores around my nose just as well as the original formula. I like the soft, smooth finish it gives to my skin and how easily my foundation applies due to this. BB Cream typically lasts a full eight hours on my skin where as regular foundation products tend to fade around hour five this gives me an extra hour or two when I’m wearing regular foundation and keeps flaky, drier areas smooth and soft so my foundation isn’t laying patchy on those areas!

Overall, if you liked the original Instant Skin Smoother formula I’m positive you’ll adore L’Oreal Revitalift Moisture Blur Instant Skin Smoother Moisturizer as well especially if your skin is dry! L’Oreal released this just in time for the long winter ahead when my skin really needs the extra hydration!

Likey!

Available now at drugstores (I purchased mine at Walgreens).

I also have a drier skin type and loved the original formula for its blurring ability but not for the way it felt on my skin. I bought this last week and I love it! Is great as a facial primer and does make my skin feel more comfortable throughout the day. I tried to wait a couple days to see if anyone would review it but could resist the temptation. Thanks for the review!

This looks great! I hated the original, because it pilled up and rolled off my face. But I have impossibly dry skin so I’m excited to give this a try! I just purchased the eye one because that’s where my lines are.

Say, Muse, does this version have talc in it? The original one does and it’s kinda drying to me. If this is talc-less, I can see this in my future!!

I’m actually not sure kim but I’m tentatively going to say probably…I’ll check the box and comment back!

Hmm, I like the sound of a primer/moisturiser that doesn’t feel too siliconey…but I have a sneaking suspicion that I probably already own about 50 moisturisers that do something similar 😛

Side effect of having dry skin I guess – you collect a lot of moisturisers looking for the holy grail one!

I love the original but bought it BOGO 50 at Rite Aid after your review last year and haven’t even finished the first tube! It’s going to be a while before I get to this. But I am interested in the oil-free for summer so your review on that will be of interest!

I think you can possibly skip on the oil free one, not sure I like it!

I bought this product, but it was not for me. I have oily skin! =(

What I wanted was something to help make my large pores look smaller as well as help with my oily skin, I was so confused looking at all the creams!

Any-Who… can you give me advice on what I could use to reduce the oil and help reduce the looks of my pores?

BTW, your blog really helped me understand why this product was not working for me! Thanks a bunch!!

    Hi Muse,
I really like your website as it gives detail explanation of products related to cosmetics and skincare. It saves a lot of money and help u decide on a product whether to buy it or not. Keep up the good work. I have a question though can I use this primer or Garnier 5 sec blur one or any foundation primer as an eyeshadow primer or before applying concealer as I have fine lines and dark circles around my eyes and with concealers no matter how good it is tends to settle into my fine lines arnd eyes after some time so plz give me advice related to this problem. Thanks a ton.

I just starting using this product about a week ago and love it. I love it so much I actually looked into it, because I can’t beleive it is working so well. Glad to see that I am not just imagining the benefits.
