MAC Fairly Precious Extra Dimension Skinfinish Review & Swatches

MAC Fairly Precious Extra Dimension Skinfinish

MAC Fairly Precious Extra Dimension Skinfinish ($30) is one of three new Extra Dimension Skinfinishes that launches with the new MAC Magnetic Nudes Spring 2014 Collection.

I’m such a mush for MAC Mineralize Skinfinish and I can’t resist the Extra Dimension Skinfinish formula because it has such a gorgeous liquid metal effect. But ado…I rarely use Skinfinish as often as I’d like because I’m such a klutz with highlighters and you really need a softer light hand when using this as they are quite pigmented and sometimes a good deal frosty as well!

Let’s take a look!

MAC Fairly Precious Extra Dimension Skinfinish describes this as a peach with a pearl green. What the what? Green? I don’t see it kids….! This is all peach to me with a tiny hint or beige and a little orange too. It has a warmer undertone and lights up skin with a frosty peachy highlight. I think it is a touch to frosty and too sheer for use as a blush but you can use it to highlight or to add a little boast to your sheerer blush.

MAC Fairly Precious Extra Dimension Skinfinish swatches

If you like that soft, luminous glow that a highlighter can achieve Fairly Precious is your girl as it has a candlelit finish that gives skin a very pretty ethereal glow. I find it clings to my drier areas though so I’m sure it’ll accentuate the appearance of pores as well. I think the frostiness is a touch unforgivable at times because it comes across glittery and shimmery on my skin. Although the formula is very soft and silky I still have issues with it clinging to my dryness and having a patchier finish.

If you have the know how though you can make this look amazing on your complexion! It just takes proper priming and placement to add a beautiful touch of peachy glow to your face!

Any takers?

I picked this up and it looks gorgeous in the pan. I haven’t had a chance to swatch it yet. It’s almost too pretty to touch.

The wesbite lists it as “Peach with dimensional pearly SHEEN”. Not sure where the “green” came from.
