Nip Fab CC Eye Fix 2

With CC fever returning for Spring 2014 it is no wonder products like Nip Fab CC Eye Fix are popping up! Heck, even Smashbox has a new Camera Ready BB Cream Eyes for Spring 2014.

Brace yourself because you’re going to see a lot of this coming your way for Spring…!

Take a look!

Nip Fab CC Eye Fix is a color correcting eye cream plus concealer all in one that’s created with oat extract and light diffusing pigments to help brighten and lift eyes where beeswax helps protect and care for the delicate skin under your eyes.

On a swatch of the Light shade (it also comes in Medium) I was relieved to see that there wasn’t any shimmer or sparkle in the mix. I hear light diffusing pigments and I run in the opposite direction. Many moons ago Lorac Double Feature Concealer took me the evil of a too shimmery under eye look!

The shade is a grayish pink kinda like you’d see from brightening BB Creams from Korean brands like Jadilla J and Skin 79. I was a little excited about the gray base as I get on very well with gray based BB Cream as they brighten up my complexion nicely. But also very scared of using it under my eyes….! I wasn’t sure how well it would look under my eyes. It’s a thinner creamy consistency that feels a touch dry as I blend it out. I would say my drier eyes do need eye cream prior to application even though this is marketed as an all one moisturizer and concealer.

Unfortunately it runs very sheer so it didn’t do much to correct dark circles. In its defense it is called a corrector so you can use it in conjunction with your own concealer for the best concealing powerful. As you’ll rely on this to correct darkness and your concealer to conceal any other issues. I didn’t feel like it diffused to much of anything though.

Nip Fab CC Eye Fix is a great concept but the formula doesn’t live up to what its actually supposed to do. Perhaps a bit more pigment, a better shade selection, and a formula that’s more moisturizing would tip it into the “hey, this is a really cool product!” category but as it is, well, it is a little lacking.

Available at Ulta and Target.

I’m sad that this is sheer. I’ve really liked the few things I’ve tried from this line. I used the entire tube of cc cream and an eye cream and I almost never use up anything. The price point is really good for me too. I still might give this a go when there is a bogo at ulta.
