Philosophy Miracle Worker Foundation for Spring 2014

Philosophy Miracle Worker Foundation

As a fan girl of Philosophy Miracle Worker skincare I’m quite excited about the launch of Philosophy Miracle Worker Foundation ($40) that’s launching in seven shades for the Spring 2014 (and is already available at Ulta.com).

Apparently this harvests everything we love about Miracle Worker skincare and brings it to you in the form of a foundation!

Philosophy Miracle Worker Foundation is a lightweight, medium coverage foundation formula according to the brand that improves the signs of aging even after you take it off. It’s weightless and natural finish makes it feel like you aren’t wearing any makeup at all according to Philosophy.

There claim is it visibly takes five whole years off your complexion! Stock me UP! And it helps to improve the tone and radiance of your skin even after it is removed hmmmmm!

This isn’t Philosophy’s first trip to the ballgame as they’ve dabbled in base makeup and color cosmetics before with some fairly nice results so I’m looking forward to give this a whirl! Natural coverage sounds good to me.

Thoughts?

Do share!

It’s available now at Ulta.com and will launch later this Spring at other locations.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. As a huge fan of Philosophy I have been waiting for their make up line to expand with the addition of some talent they brought on board in the last couple of years. My questions would be this– as QVC is Philosophy’s holy grail for sales, with Sephora in second place (not sure where Philosophies actual department store counters fall in all this), why debut at Ulta? A more regional chain that is not known for stock on hand and wide assortments, much less the special pricing duo’s, super sizes, etc. Maybe its different elsewhere, but Ulta is really not even the start of a comparison against Sephora in the brick and mortar stores in Minnesota, and the internet presence of QVC and Sephora beat Ulta hands down. So, is this a quiet test market as they are not sure of the line’s success? Also, a pet peeve… if you look at the colors in both the Hope is enough line and the Miracle Worker foundation line the colors available NEVER start with #1 and a description. I am NOT a number 3- give us the full assortment and not just the shades that will work for the majority of the customers. And as far as titles/descriptions go- well it sure would be helpful. And lastly- and listen up Philosophy– you do this every time it seems…. a new product is released and it is 3-4 months before it launches anywhere else. The latest was in December with the Miracle Worker night formula available only at QVC, March for the rest of the world- since advertising started in November (possibly even October) you are more frustrated then ever that you can’t buy where you want within a reasonable amount of time. Now here is it late December, and we’re doing it again. I’ve went into the Department stores and asked Philosophy counter people about products and they are downright embarrassed that big products aren’t available through them- or even Philosophies own website… then add to the fact that their product knowledge is completely lacking as they don’t get access to the product. It’s embarrassing a name brand would treat it’s OWN brand in this fashion. If not every department store chain- at least on Philsophies website- where only I estimate 1/4 of their assortment and combo’s are available to their most loyal customers. So, while I LOVE Philosophy (more Unconditiona love products please…. we don’t ALL like the florals of Amazing Grace and it’s sisters!), start treating yourself better rather then catering to big volume chains. Or, if you are going to cater to them– don’t restrict the colors available and make the exclusivity time periods shorter– as we forget all about when they will become available and where. Perhaps we should be able to sign up on Phiosophies website for a reminder… hmmmmmm.

Hi Cindy.. has a deal with them to launch most products first.
As for Ulta & Sephora, both fabulous stores, Sephora has limited sku’s of philosophy as well as other brands since they have purchased and now own their own brands. Ulta and the dept. stores sell a lot of philosophy and Ulta sells the most current and best selling sku’s.. sometimes things are no longer carried because of limited space on the “gondolas”.Ulta is a top seller in our area for philosophy and is selling the current new release foundations. By the way, I have worn the Miracle worker foundation and it is fabulous! Love the finish!

QVC was the first line I had mentioned.. they have the options of new product launches.

I am a huge fan of the Miracle Worker line and was very excited when I saw this debut. Unfortunately, I had a series of problems with it.
    – I ordered it online guessing my shade. I chose Shade 4 which worked ok, but was a little too light and too yellow for my NW20 complexion.
    – The coverage was way too much for me and I like some coverage. It also just sat on top of the skin no matter how much blending and buffing I did.
-I tried using a fraction of the amount, but the pump is so stiff and I could only get it to pump out WAY more than I needed…a huge waste in my book.
    – It gives you a very dewy look. Too dewy for me. I tried it with setting powder too but after just a few hours I was back too looking very dewy/oily…which isn’t a problem for me usually as I have dry skin.
    – Speaking of dry skin, even with moisturizer, it clung to dry patches.

I really really tried to make this work but it was a huge bust for me.

I think it might be one of my all time favorite foundations. I love it. And love the Dewey finish.
I also tried the Hope In A Bottle foundation which is more matte. I love th both but the Miracle Worker for me is my fave of the two. 🙂
