A big yay goes out to the Pur Minerals Show Off Collection ($28) today! This selection of full size Pur Minerals Lip Gloss Sticks and Eyeshadow Sticks is a great introduction to Pur Minerals makeup plus it adds to your every growing collection of chubby lip and eye pencils I’m sure.
Take a peek!
I recently picked up the Pur Minerals Show Off Collection at Ulta (it’s still available there or online). I happen to have too many chubby lip and eye pencils than I need but hey, what’s a few more right?
This set includes six full size Pur Minerals Lip Gloss Sticks and Eyeshadow Sticks in a swivel up chubby pencil that do not require a sharpener.
Exposed is a creamy nude that that has quickly because my favorite product of the moment as it quite reminds me of Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Vanilla, Milani Naturally Chic Shadow Eyez in Almond Cream, and the newly released Too Faced Instant Attitude Brow Lift. Seriously, if I had to, I’d buy the complete set all over again just to have this color! It’s a really pretty base shade that lights up your entire eye area and can act as a sort of Benefit Lemon-Aid-like product that preps eyes for makeup or can be worn along just to brighten your eye up and diffuse the look of veins on lids, redness, or darkness! The creamy consistency blends easily and has excellent color pay off to illuminate your entire lid and eye area in a few strokes!
I like the Eyeshadow Stick formula well enough but I don’t find them quite as pigmented or as creamy as Milani Shadow Eyez or Tarte SMOLDEReyes. They do however, remind me of Clinique Stick Shadow Tints for Eyes. The shades apply quite nicely but have a tiny bit if a tug during application, nothing too dramatic but it is there and worth mentioning. They blend very easily onto my lid and have excellent color pay off when built up. I had a small issue when blending where I was smearing color away easily so I had to build and rebuild a few times to get the best color pay off. This happened mostly with the colored shades but thankfully wasn’t as noticeable with Exposed. They wear quite well once set on my drier eyes and I didn’t have issues with the color fading or creasing.
The Lipgloss Sticks are slightly deceiving as I expected a more glossy feel and finish. The finish is more of a creamy satin and the texture is a little drying on my lips but pigmentation is considerably better than Clinique Chubby Sticks or Tarte Lipsurgence which sometimes can run a little sheerer. They felt like a bit of a lighter feel and texture than the new Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm Sticks. Wear time was a good four hours before showing minor fading and a staining effect at hour five.

Doing the math you’re only paying $4.60 per pencil here and that’s a total steal! It’s even less than you’d pay for a Milani Shadow Eyez Pencil!
The set had some quirks but overall I really like the set and thought it was a killer deal! And Exposed? That’s a total must have shade in my opinion! Loves it!

Hmmm..I should wander over to Pur’s website and see if they sell it as an individual color! I sure hope so.
