Sephora Pantone Universe Velvet Lipstick Review & Swatches

This was provided to me by a brand for review and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post but all opinions are my own.

Sephora Pantone Universe Velvet Lipstick 6

Why oh why is Sephora Pantone Universe Velvet Lipstick ($18) available in one shade? It blew my mind and proceeded to disappoint me because I only had access to a single shade of it.

Sephora I NEED variety!

Can you please release this awesome sauce formula in more shades?

K, thanks!

It might look like Dior Addict Lipstick but Sephora Pantone Universe Velvet Lipstick is a formula all its own. Housed in a mirrored transparent click to release barrel this little lippie packs pigment.

Available in a single shade, just in time for the Holidays, entitled Earth Red this luxurious formula cloaks lips in rich, opaque color with a single application. The thin, creamy texture is semi-matte and velvety smooth. It hugs lips like a glove and has a soft sheen finish.

Earth Red is a warmer berry red that makes for an excellent Holiday shade.

Sephora did an overall excellent job with their Pantone Collection. There were some misses but I’d say the hits outweighed those considerably and Sephora Pantone Universe Velvet Lipstick is proof that Sephora creates some superior makeup products when they put their mind to it.

Love this.

Muse Approved.

Available now at Sephora and Sephora.com.

Oooh this is pretty on you. Love this berry shade as a nice change up from traditional Red for the Holidays.

    Hi Muse,
How similar is this shade to the Tarte lipsurgence in Promise you swatched a bit ago from the QVC collection? I absolutely loved that shade and have been searching for a dupe. This looks close…could it be?
    Thank you!!!!

this is considerably darker megan where as promise has more of a berry tone this has a bit of vampy/darker berry finish. Hope this helps!

I looove this shade. This is the only plummy shade I thought suited Belle from Beauty and the Beast and I plan on buying a backup tube for when I do princess parties as Belle. Everything else ran too cool or dark, or too pink. So… it’s a business expense! :>
