Skinfood Buckwheat Loose Powder Review & Swatches

Skin Food Buckwheat Loose Powder

Skinfood Buckwheat Loose Powder is a loose sheer powder available in four shades that launched quite sometime ago and has been part of the permanent Skinfood Collection for a while now.

Originally I purchased the #23 shade to replace my Skin Food Salmon Dark Circle Powder because I wanted something to set my concealer. Later on I discovered the awesomeness of Ben Nye Banana Powder but Skinfood Buckwheat Loose Powder had already become apart of my daily makeup regime.

Take a peek!

Skinfood Buckwheat Loose Powder four shades run from simple transparent to a lilac shade for brightening. The two shades in between are Skin Beige and Natural Beige which both run fairly light but sheer.

I’m not big on using a setting powder especially in the Winter because I have drier, flakier skin and well, powder and dry skin equals not good. However, I’ve run across powders I enjoy using especially in the Summer when my skin is a little oily. Skinfood Buckwheat Loose Powder happens to be one of those.

At first I purchased it simply to set my concealer under my eyes and just to brighten things up a bit. After discovering Banana Powder I really had no use for it so I started dusting a little on my face and I quickly started to love it.

It’s a SUPER silky luxurious feeling powder with a finely milled texture that’s so soft. It has a delicate rose/flower scent that’s very pretty. It comes with puff for application but I find buffing it on gently with a bushier brush works best for my drier skin. It doesn’t accentuate my drier areas and provides a smooth, satiny finish that keeps my BB Cream and foundation wearing longer. And although fairly sheer for the most part it does brighten things up a bit as well!

If you’re looking for an inexpensive setting powder I’d highly suggest checking this out. It’s fabulous and sure it works a treat under eyes as well but as of now you can’t rip that Ben Nye Banana Powder out of my cold dead hands, loving that stuff for setting my concealer.

Grab this on Sasa.com, E-bay, or other online shops for around $12-$15.
