ouch!!!!! I have to say his lipsticks are truly fabulous but so hard to swallow $50 per lippie!

  • Jessica

I’m slightly fussy! His lipsticks are $49/ea and my calculator tells me 12 x $49 = $588. So you’re not even getting a discount! I thought that was the point of holiday sets? I understand it’s a luxury brand but *grumble* *grumble* they could’ve at least priced it where one was free or something.

Whew. Ok. I’m better now. :p

Stunning shades and I’ve read nothing but good things about his lipsticks, incredibly expensive but luxurious at the same time. I always wonder who buys these sets as well, its a beautiful collection. I always wonder if beauty editor splurge on these I know I would if given the chance! Hard to believe the other lotto winner hasn’t came forward, wondering if something happened to the ticket! Just went to the grocery store, my $1 ticket was worth nada. Next time I’m just playing within my state, better chances@ winning!

If I had the $500+ to drop on 12 lipsticks right now, then I would buy this in a minute. Sometimes I like sets so I don’t have to arduously go over all the colors & other times I dislike a set when right off the bat 50% of it looks unusable (runway only look). Enjoy all the colors. 🙂

I love your lipstikes even though they are pricey it would be nice if you would have some specials during the year so regular people could buy them at a discount and mostly senior citizens who still like to feel special some of the time. Please think about that for us seniors.

All your items are great. Happy Holidays

thanks for the comment and Happy Holidays Arlene but these aren’t my lipsticks, I’m not Tom Ford, you’re commenting on Musings of a Muse a beauty website. Hope this helps. Have a blessed Holiday.

I’m with you Muse, it’s astounding how many companies are putting out these very expensive sets for the holidays. I’m just surprised because I can’t help but think….aren’t they aware how fragile the economy is right now? Oh well, I believe these are targeted at those folks who have the money no matter what the economy. What I would LOVE to see: high end brands offering an opportunity to try their products at a discount and customize the set. I’m not saying that they should offer their stuff for pennies on the dollar, but $50 for a lipstick? I mean, come on! It would be great (for example) if Tom Ford would offer a set price (discounted a little) for say 3 or 4 lipsticks. And you get to choose the color. I refuse to believe that every body can wear every color offered in a set like this. That does not compute. What that really tells me is high end brands like Tom Ford aren’t interested in trying to reach out to a wider customer base. I think it’s all about the “cachet and snob” factor. It just puzzles me because common sense tells you that they could make so much more money if they would price some sets and products within reach for more people. Maybe it’s just me and I’m crazy.

Muse, I agree that this year seems to be the one for massive sets. I splurged on the tarte lipsurgence set but none of the others have really tempted me yet. The urban decay one would have except I have so many of their shadows anyway, that there would only have been a dozen or so new ones!

    • Isabella Muse

big time Cathy 🙂 looks like Spring might be more of the same…..! Good for you that set was incredible 😀 did you see the Stain Vault they did?! ;-D

  • Lauren

I seriously doubt that every one of those lipsticks would look great on one single person. That’s the major reason I don’t buy big sets of stuff. Generally, there’s only a limited number of the included products that actually look attractive on me. In that set, there’s three, MAYBE four, of the shades that would be wearable on me. Most of the reds lean too orange and the majority of the pale ones would seriously wash me out (and they’re SO similar!). I could wear the purple one, the reddish one right above it, and the pale one right underneath it. Almost $600 for 3 wearable lipsticks is literally laughable, regardless of how “luxurious” the brand is.

Hubby got me this Tom Ford Lipstick vault (and I got to pick the colors I wanted at NM), as well as the Jasmine Rouge parfum as part of my Christmas prezzie. These lippies are JUST gorgeous and worth it IMO
