Bare Minerals The True Romantic Ready Palette

Bare Minerals The True Romantic Ready Eyeshadow Palette ($30) is a new limited edition Ready Eyeshadow Palette launched with the Bare Minerals Romantic Trend Spring 2014 Collection.

I was surprised at the color selection on this as it was a bit more natural compared to the lovely pink of Bare Minerals Feel the Love Marvelous Moxie Lipstick and Bare Minerals Heartbreaker Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss which is also part of this collection.

At first I admit I was a touch disappointed because I really had hoped for a Ready Eyeshadow 8.0 like last year’s The Power Neutrals Ready Eyeshadow Palette. I also wasn’t kinda iffy about the neutrals for the True Romantic Palette because I kinda wanted something soft and pink to go with the lipstick and gloss that launched with the collection.

I thought for sure I’d want to return it but after trying it, well, I love it!

At a glance the Bare Minerals The True Romantic Ready Eyeshadow Palette is a bit uneventful but after trying it out, well, I gotta say I really liked it.

This has four shades contrasting shades of shadow that all work together to create a fabulous natural look! At first I thought well, gee, these shades are so not going to work well together but actually they do!

Shades:

  • Love It
  • Woo is Me
  • Louder
  • Head Over Heals

Head Over Heels, Love It, Woo is Me, Head Over Heels

I think judged by past Ready Eyeshadow Palettes these are softer, sheerer shades. The only shade is heavily pigmented is Louder but everything comes together in the end and just works!

I always find that the Ready Eyeshadows have an incredible formula. So velvety, so buttery smoother, so easy to blend and apply with absolutely no fall out. Some of these shades, especially the lighter ones, have a bit of a flakier formulation but they apply beautifully none the less.

Love It I used to highlight my brow area with Woo is Me all over my eye lid and crease and Louder blended just off to the outer corners of my eyes and Head Over Heels to accent my upper lash line.

It’s probably not what you envision as a romantic palette or at least not what I think of when I think of a softer, romantic look! It is however, a beautiful selection of warmer naturals that are easy to apply, easy to use, and easy to create with! Don’t make the same mistake I did with overlooking it because yes, it does look sort of uneventful at first. But I promise once applied the colors just really work to create a very soft and nude look that’s beautiful!

Do like!

Am I disappointed the palette isn’t in matching with the other rosy shades in the collection?

Well, maybe just a smidge! But all is forgiven and forgotten because truly these shades are stunning!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Why does *every* feel the compelling need to put a gold/bronze/copper shadow in *every* neutral palette…? I don’t mind too much if it’s a larger palette, but in quads/quints, it’s a bit annoying.

I really really want a new 8.0 palette! There’s one that Sephora was selling (The September Issue I think?) that I don’t have but I would love to see a new one. I wasn’t really digging the colors in the Perfect 10 palette, this girl loves some color!

This is a lovely looking palette! The shades suit you so well (: I’ve never tried anything from Bare Minerals but my sister raves about them, perhaps their eyeshadows would be a good place to start!

I love the bare minerals pressed shadows. I passed on this set because I’ve already got enough eyeshadows in this family but I do adore the LE packaging.
