Biore Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips Review

Biore Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips

The pores on my nose demand something strong and the new Biore Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips might just be up to the job! For Spring 2014 Biore has introduced two new Deep Cleansing Pore Strips one of which is the Ultra Deep formula which contains Witch Hazel and Tea Tree Oils to suck out those nasties that get deeply embedded into the pores of your nose.

Do they work?

Oh hell yeah.

Biore Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips4

Seriously, Biore Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips are a call in the wild to all those gross, nasty bits that get so deeply embedded into your pores you’re positive there here for the extended stay and not the cheap three day holiday.

I have drier skin with pores that aren’t entire visible on my face. However, my nose, well, I def have larger pores around this area which are visible if you’re staring rather closely. These pores also happen to act as a magnet for oil, dirt, and anything else that I pick up along my travels.

At first these strips appear as normal as the regular Biore Nose Strips. Nothing really special or different about them. However, once you open the outer packaging I noticed the nose strips tends to peel up and off the clear backing if left alone for a moment. For example, I ripped open the silver outer packaging and laid the strip down for a moment while I washed my face and the strip kinda curled up and peeled off the clear adhesive on the back. The fact that it curls up also makes for a challenge getting it on my nose as it seemed like it wanted to curl up and off my nose when I applied it. The main difference between the Ultra Deep formula and the regular from what I can see is you need a TON more water to get them to stay put so don’t be shy about splashing water on your nose a plenty to get this to adhere well.

Now I will warn you especially if you’re sensitive these have a GRIP…! The grip of the Cthulhu after being waken up from a deep sleep. I have drier skin around my nose and cheeks at the moment and I ripped off a bit of skin when I took this strip off so beware. But…this is a good thing because man do they offer a deep clean. I admit they didn’t get to the two or three clogged pores I have at the tip of my nose but everything else was fair game. Truly, the extra Ultra Deep Cleansing adhesive aka Paper Mache of the GODS they used to create these is pretty damn amazing at sucking your pores clean!

I’d Muse Approved but remember kids Biore Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips could be potentially too much for sensitive skin so be careful when using them! No one ever said beauty was gentle.

And I know, you’re groaning that I didn’t post a picture of my used pore strip but my pores are currently whistling since I used Seikisho Mask White a few days ago….next time kids, next time!

I’ve had awful experience with the regular Biore Pore Cleansing Strips. When I tried to take it off it got stuck on my nose and wouldnt really come off and it was so painful. I don’t know if I’m doing it wrong 🙁

But I could use some for my blackheads.

If you ever have such a hard time taking it off that the pain is not worth it, just soak the strip (on your nose) in water and it should slip right off. It won’t actually DO anything for your blackheads, but at least you should be able to remove it without pain.

Thank you for the warning for sensitive skin types on this product! My mature skin probably will need to stay away but I will pick some up for my Husband to use—yes he uses some of my products—so I try to get him his own supply too. 😀

I finally broke down and bought a Clarisonic Aria (actually I picked it out as a birthday present last month and told Big Daddy that’s what he gave me haha!). Wow! I can’t believe I held out for so long. My skin is glowing! I use the sensitive brush head though.

my pleasure katros 🙂 happy new year btw….! yay happy to hear it! I def give the Aria a big yay 😀

Thanks for the review! Not sure I’m brave enough to try these since the regular ones can be irritating to my skin. But maybe I’ll give them a whirl in the summer when my excessive oiliness rears its ugly head!

  • Cat >^..^< .

I’ve been using the original nose strips (a few times a year) since they came out. I’ve always been happy with the results. I might try these new ones… maybe. I have dry skin, too… so, yeah. I don’t want to rip off any skin!! I wonder if they’ll be offering samples on their website? I think I need to keep an eye out for that. =)

I still have like 4 boxes of the regular nose strips I’m trying to get through! It’s kind of a funny story really. I did some Facebook thing for Biore where you can earn points for purchases and doing activities on the page. I redeemed my points for a single box of the nose strips. Somehow, their system glitched and sent me 6!!! The mailman must have been like WTF when he tried to get them all in the mailbox. I gave a few to my sister but I’m still stuck with a few more…

LOL now you’re stocked up good and tight for all those nasty pore issues sara 😀

  • kimmyyy

I’ve used the original ones periodically because I have large pores around my nose (UHG), but my God do they hurt like HELL when you remove them! I’m so glad I’m not the only one who feels that way. If these are even grippier, I don’t think I could handle it! I’d be rolling around on the ground crying like a kid. You’re a brave, brave soul!
Do you think you’ll actually be finishing off the box, despite the pain??

    • Isabella Muse

oh yeah, I def can finish the box off no probs lol! my skin is leather haha…! I don’t mind in the least 😀 I’m actually glad they made a beefier version as I totally need it!

hmmm i thought they had ultra ones before> i remember finding them not much different than the regular. I occasionally will use them but i don’t recall them having fragrance in the ingredients. Is the ultra just re-formulated?

    • anne

i just looked up the ingredients on the original and there was witch hazel in them, not sure if their website is updated-its the old pkg but the ingredients are the same minus the fragrance:

Ultra: POLYQUATERNIUM-37, SILICA, WATER, GLYCERIN, POLYSILICONE-13, PEG-12 DIMETHICONE, TITANIUM DIOXIDE, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, METHYLPARABEN, MELALEUCA ALTERNIFOLIA (TEA TREE) LEAF OIL, MENTHOL, HAMAMELIS VIRGINIANA (WITCH HAZEL) EXTRACT.

I thought the deep ones they had but not the ultra? I never tried the ultra so they are def new for me…and I thought for everyone else too oops sorry! 🙂

  • Krista

Thanks for the Review 🙂 I almost bought these the other day but was unsure about them. Didn’t know if they actually worked! Ill be purchasing them though next time I get to the store and give them a try.

    • Isabella Muse

my pleasure…! depends how deeply embedded the blackheads are Gray, ones closer to the surface you’ll have the most success removing with these 🙂
