Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream Review

Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream

Bloody hang nails! Someone once recommended I carry a baby nail clipper around with me and it was the best advice I ever did get to cure hang nails. My cuticles and sides of my nails JUST BEG to be picked! That’s why I absolutely adore Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. Arms with this and by baby nail clippers I do battle daily with dreaded hang nails!

And I admit I sit around at my desk chronically applying lip balm and Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream.

True story I love me some Lush Lemony Flutter but it’s a bit too rich for traveling with unless I want to glide across a room in that case butter yourself up with it.

Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream is kinda an low calorie version of Lemony Flutter and a life saver for my drier cuticles. I’m the type of person that bleeds like a stuck pig if I even think about touching any part of my cuticles. Obviously I have a masochist side because I adore picking at hang nails, cuticles, etc…just ripping them off willy nilly. It’s almost as disgusting a habit as biting my nails.

Burts Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream

A reader suggested that baby nail clippers are small enough to fit in my makeup bag and quite friendly to stop the insanity of nasty cuticle habits and she was right! I simply clip back any skin that I’m tempted to pick and follow up with a swipe of Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream to smooth things over.

Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream is a dense balm which turns emollient when warmed up. It’s thin and slightly oil but absorbs easily and doesn’t leave me oily. It actually prevents those dreaded hang nails from popping up as it hydrates the area so the skin is soft and smooth and not popping up and begging to be torn. If by chance one does pop up I simply snip it and apply a little bit of this to keep the area smooth and soft.

Lemony Flutter is far more moisturizing and great for using in the evening but Burt’s formula is much more travel friendly for daily use when your nails and cuticle bed might be brittle or dry from the colder weather. Plus it smells delightfully tart and lemon lime-y!

Love this stuff.

Def a makeup bag essential!

Available at drugstores.

Hi Muse! Great review! I too suffer from horrible cuticles that I “help along” by picking… I tried this stuff a while back but I swear it made my nails yellow!! Has this happened to you or anyone else?

GOSH nooo! that’s awful! I’ve been using it a year or so never had a prob with yellow nails though so sorry to hear it Cathy!

Muse, have you tried J.R. Watkins before? They have a Lemon Hand & Cuticle Salve and a Lemon Cream Hand Cream…I rub the salve on my cuticles, slather my hands in the cream, and slap on gloves before I go to bed. Feels good and smells LOVELY – like lemon pie! 😀

this stuff is great. i use a thick coat before bed once or twice a week and it keeps things in check. been using this stuff for years…i hope they never DC it. I also love the smell and i’m not usually into lemon.

Neither this nor Lemony Flutter works for me at all. Which is annoying for me as a nail polish blogger.

OMG I Thought I am insane that I clip hard, calloused skin around my nails, SOOO glad to know the MUSE does it too!! I Have severely rough calloused skin around the tips of my fingers and nails and yes I need to clip them every two days! typing these with a painful finger lol …..will pick this if I find it.

nia same issue, I get hang nails and love picking at them so I have to clip them back to avoid a horror show ;D

Ha! Loved the “And I admit I sit around at my desk chronically applying lip balm and Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream.”

Me too. My co-workers are always busting me for doing the same thing. But that Burt’s Bees Lemon stuff smells good enough to just scoop and eat (but I won’t!)

btw, I’ve tried all the others mentioned above, and the only other one I like is the Body Shop Almond Oil Cuticle thing. It’s a brush at the end of a tube–the other end is rubber cuticle pusher. Smells yummy, too.

LOL agreed! or suck your fingers with it on lol! ;-D oh that’s handy! have to check that out! thanks gail ;D

I use the Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream more often as lip balm than as cuticle cream. Best lip balm ever, it’s just too expensive for an everyday lip balm!
