It’s Cold Out, Watch a Movie
The weather is going to get rough tomorrow here in Gotham City. I’m hearing below zero-like temps. Yay! That yay is total sarcasm. I’m not the type of person to sit home very much so the weather is a killjoy on my personal life but it makes for some good times sitting snuggled on the couch watching a film or two.
I did just that on Saturday night.
I took an hour out to rewatch Les Emotifs Anonymes because I happen to be in love with Benoit Poelvoorde (I think C’est Arrive Près de Chez Vous is genius) and in lust with the cuteness that is Isabelle Carre.
This is a super short film, maybe 80 minutes? Not even? But it’s so rich you won’t notice the shortness in the least….! The story is so developed for something that lasts for such a short time. For a French romantic comedy it is quite quirky, cutesy, and whimiscal which you do tend to get in French films but this takes it to a very fun level that I haven’t seen in the genre before.
With V-Day on the horizon and cold weather all around I’d suggest a watch. I have it on DVD but it is available on demand across the board so it isn’t difficult to locate in the least.
Betcha you love it as much as I do!
I dare you not to fall in love with Benoit Poelvoorde!
