CVS Night Time Makeup Remover Cleansing Clothes Review

CVS Night Time Makeup Remover Cleansing Clothes

So I’ve been on a mission to pick up bulk packs of Makeup Remover Wipes on the cheap because if you’re a blogger you KNOW you totes mcgotes needs them. What? What?! I couldn’t resist I NEEDED to add that into a sentence somewhere! My best friend and I decided we needed to contact Sprint and have James Earl Jones and Malcolm McDowell reenact our texts because we seriously text like two twelve year old girls I imagine some sort of stupid arse word like totes mcgotes has appeared in one or two of ’em! Ha!

Anyway…. I didn’t even need wipes to remove makeup but swatching your arm left and right means you need a wipe or two or three to clean it all off after a major swatch session when you’re a blogger!

Lately my go to are CVS Night Time Makeup Remover Cleansing Clothes.

Take a peek!

CVS Night Time Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes

So check it.

CVS Night Time Makeup Remover Cleansing Clothes come in a two pack for $4.99 and each pack includes 25 wipes each. Nice….! Yes? I got them recently at CVS on a whim and was quite taken by the huge size and the nicely saturated wipe. They take off makeup easily off my arm in a single swipe and make for a might handy makeup remover to sit beside me as I take photos. They have quite a lovely fragrance as well but the scent might be WAY too strong for those sensitive.

On the downside….

I can’t technically use them on my face.

Not sure what’s causing the issue but the two times I used them on my face I ended up with major skin peel going on. My skin was dry to begin with due to the super cold weather but these seemed to irritate it even more and I ended up flaking up like I was about to shed skin! I’m still recovering…! My cheeks are rather chapped and dry at the moment and the culprit is most definitely these wipes. It’s rather sad as the generous size wipe, nice saturation of makeup remover, and excellent way they get off makeup makes them a nice cheapie fine but the way they dry my skin out isn’t worth it!

So on the upside they are cheap as chips for swiping away swatches and I’ll def indulge again for that purpose. But no way are these venturing near my face again.

Every try ’em?

Do share!

I bought a 2 pack of the equate ones from *gasp* walmart (I’m telling you they’ve gotten to me ;( the store is too close, I’ve been infected!) they have tiny exfoliating beads sewn into the cloth, it actually does a pretty good job

    • Isabella Muse

I GOT THOSE TOO! I don’t like them for my face as they aren’t “wet’ enough but for swatch clean up total steal! ;-D

  • kamikity

I love the epielle facial wipes (somehow you can only find them in Big Lots) they are $1 for 30sheets/pk, and they only have a very faint scent that doesn’t irritate my skin or nose. I also like Ponds purple one, and the Bare Escentuals one (but this one is rather pricy and takes up a lot of space)

I just use the Neutrogena for sensitive skin. Anything with a strong fragrance breaks me out. I also like Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes. I got a free sample and they work great and don’t break me out 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

I really like the simple ones too! they are just that, simple! ;-D

  • kate

I used them on my face and found they were just as good as the Ponds/Kirkland I had bought before. I bought them on sale @ CVS.
Haven’t used them since the weather turned really cold, but they work well for me. Also great for cleaning makeup brushes when you dont’ want to do the complete washing on them

    • Isabella Muse

ohhh I didn’t think of cleaning brushes with them thanks for that rec!

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL! stop I’ll pee myself hehe. that makes me giggle every time 😀

I use baby wipes to clean my make-up brushes. After applying my make-up I just make a few swipes over the wipe. I do this in between deep cleansing make-up brushes. I love Almay (oil free, 100% fragrance free, hypoallergenic) make-up remover towelettes 25 ct. They are pretty big and lots of moisture too. I wear a full face of make-up and two does the job. They don’t sting my eyes either. I got mine at the Ulta Store buy one get second 1/2 price.

        • DiEtta

I keep mine in one of those Lock & Lock (Tupperware like) containers. It is plastic with a lid that has the little locks all around the lid. Got it at Target.

Hahaha I love the one where he’s like, “I’m kinda tired. But, I also kinda wanna go out.”

    • Isabella Muse

LOL I swear I have had that conversation at least once a week with my friend Jamie, “So you wanna go out? I dunno I’m tired…yeah I guess…..” LOL

  • JoElla

I use the teal package Muse, and I have to be careful because they can irritate my skin. But the Neutrogena ones do as well.

Like Kate, I love the CVS Ponds version. I always have them on hand (the best one IMO is the white tea and chammomile ones). I wish more companies would follow CVS’s lead, and use the same type of closure. My CVS versions have never dried out.

Kamikiy I love the epielle facial wipes! And they even came out with more types.

    • Isabella Muse

I AGREE! the closure is excellent because mine dry out within a day on a variety of brands with that stupid sticker closure! i’ll have to check out the CVS ponds one!

  • Miranda

I had the Rite Aid version of these and they made the skin around my eyes itch and burn and peel! IT WAS HELL, I TELL YOU! I ended up using them for swatches, too, but it would turn my arm red. NO clue what the hell were in those!

  • fancie

I’ve never tried these but for the price I’m going to give them a go lol. I have sensitive, dry skin so I’m going to steer clear of using these on my face. But I definitely need them for swatching. You hit the nail on the head with that one!

  • auroragyps

I’ve only seen the “Totes McGotes” commercial, but I love it. I read this article and I swear the behind the scenes video at the end of it might be even funnier.

PS: I hope links are ok and know I’d never spam ya.

PSS: Have you read the Amber DRPG book yet? I’m dying to know how you liked it. I’ve been super crazy, so I haven’t been able to type up any info from the campaigns I was in, but I will try asap.

    Hi,
Thanks for the great review, I have
very sensitive skin too and definitely
will not be picking these up!
What I did just pick up were the
    new Cetaphil gentle skin cleansing
cloths which I am very excited to try out.
Have you seen these out and about yet?
    Theresa

    • Isabella Muse

Hi Theresa! i had heard about them but didn’t try them yet! let me know what you think? I’d be curious to hear the good word 🙂 and you’re most welcome def avoid if you’re sensitive, I’m not and these were hell on my skin so I can imagine what they’d do on sensitive skin! eep! 🙁

  • AnniLau

The Garnier wipes in the all-green package are my favorites. They’re not too wet, not too dry, remove all of my eye makeup, no problem, and don’t irritate my skin or eyes.

  • Michelle

I just used my last of the CVS nightime wipes and I actually quite like them, but my FAVORITE are the Aveeno nourishing facial wipes. Oh they just can’t be beat! I found them on a journey to find my favorites wipes. I purchased like 10 different brands and Aveeno has won!

  • Theresa

    Hi Isabella,
The Cetaphil wipes work great and are very gentle on the skin like it says..that is right, you have dry skin and not sensitive, silly me!
