Too Faced Peach Beach

Too Faced Peach Beach Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush ($29) is one of two new Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush colors that Too Faced introduced with their Haute Chocolate Spring 2014 Collection.

If you loved the original Sweethearts Blush you’re likely very excited to have two brand new shades to choose from (these are part of the permanent collection as of now). I didn’t get on great with the original shade as it reminded me of a Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick basically translating as lots of shimmer and highlight but no real color.

Needless to say I was excited about a new shade because I was hopeful it would be more pigmented.

Here are my thoughts on Peach Beach!

Too Faced Peach Beach Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush

Too Faced Peach Beach Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush is made up of three shades which are shimmering peach, a shimmer rose, and a shimmering golden bronze.

When used together they create an orange bronze on my cheeks. I actually used a kabuki to apply as I find this is the best way to get the most color pay off from the product as with a regular blush brush the “blush” tends to apply sheer. Notice the quotes? I think blush is a term to use lightly here as in my opinion Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush is more of a highlighter than a true blush. It’s very frosty so it does accentuate drier areas on my face and will likely catch on larger pores as well.

The frost factor translates into a good deal of shimmer for me so I’d say you’re looking at frost and shimmer here but not a ton of color when applied lightly. You really have to swirl it on and buff it out for the best color as it sheers out considerably once applied! I was super heavy handed in my photos below so you can catch a glimpse of the color it produces but I don’t recommend applying so heavily as it sticks to drier areas and tends to look rather bad when you apply too much. It does wear away fairly quickly as well so I only got about four hours out of it before it disappeared.

My suggestion is take the blush portion of the product with a grain of salt and use it as a highlighter instead with a little blush under or over it. You can get a very nice glow from it but you have to know how to apply it and when to stop (believe me getting carried away with this is easy as you just want to apply and apply and apply until you see color show up). I suggest a little something like Benefit Cha Cha Tint under it so you’ll get color from another blush and the luminosity and shimmer from the Sweethearts Blush.

I definitely think it can work as a blush on very light skintones, but as a highlighter for the majority of people. I like it 🙂

I got great pigment from this! But, I am quite pale. (naked foundation 2) I actually had to be careful not to be too heavy handed with this blush. That being said, I think your take on the shimmer and frost factor is spot on. A very shimmery blush for lighter skinned ladies and a very warm highlighter for darker.

hey alexa! Same here, I have drier skin so it clings to those dry areas BADLY if I’m not careful :-/ a lighter hand is def needed 😀 Agreed…it would make a nice blush for super fair skin and best as a highlighter for warmer ones…!

I was actually really excited about this new shade because it looked like it would make a nice highlighter on my complexion. The swatches are very pretty! Makes me want to check it out in stores. Not too sure about the wear time though. That’s really short!

yeah, sadness! it wears away so fast on me! it as a looser powdery consistency which is what I blame on the shorter wear…it seems my dry skin eats it up and it disappears in a snap!
