Garnier Smoothing Cream Cleanser Review
Garnier Smoothing Cream Cleanser is one of several brand new cleansers that Garnier has released for Spring 2014 (I purchased mine at CVS).
I don’t really need a new cleanser but lord knows I had to try this one out especially since it was formulated for drier skin.

Garnier Smoothing Cream Cleanser ($5.99) is a soap-free creamy cleanser that gently cleanses skin with a formula infused with jojoba and macadamia oils.
I’m typically a little scared of trying out new cleansers especially drugstore ones as they leave my skin very tight after use. Garnier Smoothing Cream Cleanser has a promising lotion consistency that was a bit runny and had a very strong fresh fruity floral scent. I love fragrance in my skincare but like most Garnier products this is very heavily fragranced so if you’re sensitive to fragrance beware.
This lathers up a little bit but not overly much and has a cool, slippery feel as you massage it onto skin. You can use it as a secondary wash after pre-washing with the new Garnier Cleansing Oil or your own favorite cleansing oil. I personally like it as a shower facial cleanser as I can hop in the shower, load some up on my Clarisonic, and wash my face quickly with it.
I’m not sure there’s any one thing that sets it apart as more than a basic cleanser. It does prove great for my drier skin and doesn’t make it tight after use nor does it strip my skin. It does a fairly good job removing basic makeup and leaving skin fresh and clean.
Overall, Garnier Smoothing Cream Cleanser is a nice basic and gentle cream cleanser. If you’re in the market for a cheap facial cleanser give this one a go especially for those with drier skin who need something that won’t dry their skin out further.
Available now at drugstores.
