Garnier Ultra-Lift Transformer Anti-Age Skin Corrector Review & Swatches

Garnier Ultra-Lift Transformer Anti-Age Skin Corrector1

Is it a moisturizer? A tinted moisturizer? A corrector? Garnier Ultra-Lift Transformer Anti-Age Skin Corrector ($16.99) takes on a few jobs with this universal skin type formula that promises to reveal smoother more luminous skin on a single use. Within five days they also promise your skin will be transformed and feel firmer with fine lines being minimized and a great reduction in fine lines in four weeks.

Hmm…not only that but 24 hours of moisture as well as an auto, self adjusting formula that contains micro pigments to even out skin tone and brighten it. Plus add in SF 20 and Pro-Retinol from Nature and you got a moisturizer that can walk, chew gum, and run all at the same time.

Garnier Ultra-Lift Transformer Anti-Age Skin Corrector

Garnier Ultra-Lift Transformer Anti-Age Skin Corrector kinda reminds me of the recently released in L’Oreal Age Perfect BB Cream Instant Radiance.

This is a self adjusting formula that immediately, or promises to immediately, correct and brighten skin. It’s supposed to work on a range of fair, medium, even deeper skin tones. I tried it on myself (I’m medium fair) as well as on a friend with a more darker complexion than my own and the shade deepens slightly but not by much. However, it is sheerer so I wouldn’t say it was suited to any one skin tone.

The formula is a lightweight, fast to absorb consistency with a pretty fragrance that could prove irritating for sensitive users. It provides basic moisture for AM use and does quite well at smoothing out my drier areas and leaving my with dewy, hydrated skin throughout the day. It is basic though aside from the formula which apparently treats fine lines and wrinkles although I don’t have either on my face as of yet so here’s to hoping it prevents them as well.

The product starts out white but as you apply it develops into a nude peachy shade with orange undertones (on darker skin it went a orange-y beige). The shade kinda reminds me of a powder or foundation that oxidizes due to the orange-y element. I applied it on bare skin without following up with foundation and dare I say I liked the results. It’s sort of a very sheer tinted moisturizer type product. It gave my lackluster skin just the boost it needed to look lively and healthy again. Granted I’m not going to take over the world anytime soon with a product like this but I like the idea that it perfects my skin a bit prior to following up with BB Cream or foundation during the a week day (and I’m more than comfortable using it as my makeup on the weekend when I’m not so inclined to do a major face full of makeup). I think it’ll work well for those who already have decent skin however, anyone wanting to cover major issues such as redness or darkness, blemishes, etc will find this is too sheer to do so.

Combined with the new Garnier Skin Renew 5 Second Blur Instant Smoother it creates a very nice bare face finish. Used in conjunction with your own foundation product you’ll find it sets a nice even toned base for your makeup.

I think the fragrance of Garnier Ultra-Lift Transformer Anti-Age Skin Corrector likely won’t agree with everyone so those sensitive might wish to avoid. However, if you don’t mind the fragrance this is a nice pick up if you find it on sale. I think near $20 ($16.99 retail plus taxes) is a bit high for the price though….! So finding it on sale does make it a worthy pick up. I got mine at CVS.

If you’re looking for a bare skin finish that perfects skin and preps it for makeup Garnier Ultra-Lift Transformer Anti-Age Skin Corrector does the trick! One can hope it will also treat pesky fine lines if you have ’em too!

no spf!? Some of these new products you wonder if they do anything at all? what’s the point of this one? Evens out skin tone with a orangey cast, and it hydrates. Some of these new products are a little vague for me as far as what they can really do.

Hmmm…this looks interesting! I haven’t seen it in my town yet but I want to check it out.

I have a question…When I put it on I was surprised by the shade change. I wasn’t expecting it. I thought it would be like any other spf. However, right before I put it on I put on the Garnier Dark Spot corrector as I normally do after I wash with the 3in1 face wash. And the Ultra-lift transformer clumped up on me so it looked like my skin was peeling but of course it wasn’t. Is that because I has applied the Dark Spot Corrector? BTW I love the 5 sec. blur. I have Garnier’s entire line. The face mask, the spf 28 sunscreen moisture lotion, the BB garnier cream, Miracle Skin Perfector, the overnight peel…..this line has cleared up my face so much.

How dark is the shade of orange when using transformer? Is it lighter than a tan? I use the Ultra Lift moisturizer and love it as it does firm. Not sure I want to spend the money and not be happy using it with the shading. I also use Garnier’s other products and they work.

The dimethicone ingedient scares me as it is comedogenic and I regularly break out with that ingredient. Anyone tried it that had had major breakout?

Can you leave it on through out the night ?
Because it says that the purpose is for sunscreen?
