L’Oreal Extraordinaire Lip Color Swatches

L'Oreal Extraordinaire Lip Color

L’Oreal Extraordinaire by Colour Riche Lip Color ($9.99) is on the loose for Spring 2014 kids and today I bring you swatches of some shades I picked up!

L’Oreal Extraordinaire Lip Color is available in 16 permanent shades and at drugstores (or should be popping up shortly) now. Released so close on the heals of L’Oreal Color Caresse Shine Stain I wasn’t sure what to expect from these….it seems like the same exact formula almost? Apparently these are richer in color and give lips a high shine with micro oils and color rich pigments for an extraordinarily finish.

Well, I guess you can call L’Oreal Extraordinaire Lip Color an answer to Maybelline Color Elixir Liquid Color Balm yes?

I picked up five shades and I’ll have a review up for you shortly but here’s what some of the colors look like in swatch form.

I got one of these in the Allure Beauty Box last month, but I haven’t tried it yet! I’ll be curious to see your review. 🙂

Sometimes I just want to be like… no, no more lippies. I refuse to buy every new release you put out. Sometimes it’s just another lip gloss or lipstick. I fail to see why I need to spend more money on it.

I actually like this better than the Caresse Shine Stain. (Tried one shade from each).

hmmm if your review is good, i might try these out. i got two of the maybelline elixirs but OMG the smell… i can’t use those at all. ugh~!

As a redhead I am shocked and pleased to be able to say that I can wear all those swatches, except maybe caramel. They all have a muted quality. I am so curious about the longevity; I need thick, gloppy textures to remind me not to lick my chapped lips.

Hi Jen. As a fellow redhead, I found that the caramel shade is quite flattering. Of course, we may have very different skin tones. They aren’t thick and gloppy, but I can tell I’m wearing them. To me, they are light and comfortable and fairly hydrating. And pigmented! What I was most surprised by was the wear time. I’m not a gloss girl because on me they’re usually gone in an hour or so. These lasted 3-4 hours on me. And the shine is divine. Like a mirror finish. I highly recommend them.

I recently bought this at Target in molto mauve. I really like it. It has great texture, not greasy or sticky, the color is perfect, like another coat of my own lip’s natural color and it seems to last even after eating and or drinking. So I think the formula is meant to be long lasting where as the other stain is not so much.

I got one of these in the caramel color (I think it was). I think I prefer it to the Maybelline because when the Maybelline wears off, it’s gone. When the L’oreal wears off, it seems to leave a stain behind, which I really prefer. Plus I like the fragrance better on the L’oreal, too. Not a deal-breaker, but just something I noticed about it. I may get a few of the other colors, too.

sounds promising kellly 🙂 I love a good staining effect as I’m lazy about reapplication!

You know, I like these quite a bit more than the Maybelline Elixir line. I bought the lightest nude color, which actually leans a bit pink and was wowed not only by the pigmentation but the lasting time (3-4 hours, even with drinking thru a straw). I also preferred the texture of this gloss; my lips felt more hydrated than they did with the Maybelline version. So nice to see the drugstore brands stepping it up! Happy New Year, Muse; love this blog so hard!

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW thanks MKDallas 🙂 so glad you enjoy Musings 😀 They sound promising! great mini review 😀 Thanks for adding your thoughts! I’ve been testing them last several days so hope to get some thoughts up soon 😀

I’m loving the one I got at Walgreens last week (a rose shade). I plan to get more soon. These are better than the Maybelline ones IMHO.

  • Tonya

I got one of these and only wore it once so far. I didn’t care for it very much. I prefer the Maybelline Elixirs. I realize wearing it once isn’t really giving it much of a fair chance so I think I’ll try it again.

Molto Mauve and Blushing Harmony look identical! Are they that similar in person? These sounds pretty awesome.
