L’Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Eye Smoother Review & Swatches

L'Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Eye Smoother 8

For Spring 2014 L’Oreal has several new Revitalift products including the new L’Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Eye Smoother Eye Treatment ($24.99). This undereye primer which promises to erase the look of puffiness, fatigue, fine lines, and crow’s feet with an opti-blur technology much like the one L’Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoothing Finishing Cream uses.

Let’s take a look!

At a glance I thought L’Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Eye Smoother would be like Clarins Instant Smooth Line Correcting Concentrate but in reality the formula is more like Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer.

I have drier eyes so really anything that provides more moisture is always a plus in my book and Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Eye Smoother does indeed hydrate and soften the under eye area in preparation for concealer.

I’ve been using this for two weeks now and hopefully given time I’ll see some of the correcting benefits it promises. According to L’Oreal the formula is infused with Revitalift’s anti-aging Pro-Retinol A as well as Vitamin C and a peptide for the eye area to improve the look of puffiness and fine lines over time. I can’t say any of this is working for me as of yet as two weeks of use isn’t long enough to produce visual results.

My own eyes are drier with finer lines and some puffiness but no issues with major dark circles or crow’s feet. Personally I look for concealer and eye cream products to reduce the appearance of fatigue while diminishing the appearance of finer lines and puffiness. This didn’t really address those issues for me, what it did do was prep for concealer.

This comes in a squeeze tube and features a metal cooling tip for application. The tip of the application has a cool feeling when applied to skin so you can use it to depuff as the formula glides on (although these cooling tips don’t always work for me, how about you?). The formula is quite hydrating and blends easily under my drier eyes. It has a creamy consistency with a very slight silicone-like formula but the creaminess of the product wins out here which is why I found it more comparable to Smashbox’s formula. I wouldn’t say it’s going to change your life in regards to the moisture it provides but it’ll help along your concealer during application by supplying a nice moist layer for it to adhere to.

Unfortunately, I didn’t feel like it blurred the appearance of anything. It’s supposed to use light diffusing pigments to reduce the signs of fatigue and aging but I didn’t really feel like my eyes looked any younger after my initial application nor after daily use with the product. It does have a heavy fragrance which I found pleasant but sensitive skin might prove irritated by it.

This doesn’t really fill lines so don’t expect to act as a primer for filling finer lines. It doesn’t allow concealer to last any longer either but does allow it to apply easier especially drier formulas that might tug during application as this sets a nice moisturizing base for such formulas.

In the end L’Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Eye Smoother is mostly a hydrating primer that aids concealer in applying a touch easier. I can’t say I saw any other benefits from the product at this point but can hope that the formula is treating finer lines. I actually wished for something more here….something maybe that would fill finer lines, blur their appearance, etc…but mostly it hydrates and that’s about it at this point in my testing. If it treats my finer lines, well, that remains to be seen but as of now it is slightly disappointing and just provides a little extra moisture but not much else.

It’s available now at drugstores.

    Hi Muse
I was going to get the Revlon Age Defying Wrinkle Remedy Line Filler, but this sounds better with the Retinol and Vitamin C (guess it would those prone to milia around the eyes, like me -_- ). Which one did you like better? Love to hear your thoughts.

I just bought this tonight. Kind of a bummer that it was pretty useless for you. I figured it was a gimmick so I don’t have high hopes but we shall see. Thanks for the review!

Tried this product for 2 days and I am loving it.

I am mature with puffiness and crows feet and I see a difference! I am so excited that this is working for me!

I’m 43 and tried this product for the first time today. I’m starting to have the first signs of puffiness and darkness under my eyes. I bought this with high hopes. When I run my finger over the area under my eye, it “feels” smooth, but to look at it when smiling…it makes my undereye area look wrinkled. This is not common for me. There is a temptation to continue on with it to see if there is an improvement after a few weeks. I may just resort back to my Oil of Olay and stick with my old reliable.

I use the revitalift miracle blur instant skin smoother (the large bottle for all over the face) under my eyes to blur out the fine lines and it works GREAT! I don’t get much sleep so my main issue is brightening; but I tend to get really dehydrated and add that to lack of sleep and my fine lines are out and ready to play! I’d recommend using it under the eyes, as well as all over the face. It has made a huge difference for me! (I know this post is old I was going through your eye cream archives looking for a good brightening one and wanted to check out this review )
