L'Oreal Pore Youth Code Texture Perfector Pore Vanisher 1

Greetings from sunny pore-free L’Oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Pore Vanisher land! Well, maybe not completely pore free. L’Oreal latest facial primer takes on pores and shine with a new formula that refines and smooths the look of your skin.

I mean we already have L’Oreal Miracle Blur do we need another face primer? Obviously we do PEEPS so here it is a way to vanish pores for good?

Maybe.

I dunno.

Probably.

Not really.

L'Oreal Pore Youth Code Texture Perfector Pore Vanisher

Last year L’Oreal created Miracle Blur and sort of made a break through into the drugstore facial primer world with it. This Spring the trend continues as Garnier competes by releasing their new 5 Sec Perfect Blur Primer.

Granted it’s not to say that we didn’t have facial primers at the drugstore before but they are kinda limited aren’t they? Plus they next generations formulas promise to treat skin as well as primer which even mid to high end brands dare not go to.

L’Oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Pore Vanisher ($24.99) does not have an SPF but it is apparently marketed to improve overall skin time over time. Targeted LHA micro-exfoliates according to L’Oreal smooth the skin’s surface and absorb excess oil for a shine-free finish for up to eight hours and the high concentrate of perline-p strengthens and tightens pores which means they apparently shrink over time.

I don’t have large visible pores but let’s be honest for a second here. If you do have larger pores at this point you have probably tried everything to shrink them and nothing has probably worked so I do have my doubts whether L’Oreal Pore Youth Code Texture Perfector Pore Vanisher is going to all incredible shrinking woman on your pores. Off topic, dontcha love the Little Bar of Soap song from that movie?

So for silicone haters like yours truly you’ll be happy to know this is a traditional texture. It isn’t velvety or powdery and it just doesn’t have that odd silicone-free that I associate with products like Smashbox Photo Finish. It does however, have silicones.

It’s tinted a nude flesh shade but doesn’t actually even out skin tone or offer any coverage. It has a slight fresh scent but nothing too dramatic. The texture is that of a gel which absorbs easily at first application but has a semi-matte finish after fully blended out.

I have larger visible pores on my nose and it did blur their appearance slightly but honestly, Miracle Blur does a better job of this. I’m doubtful anyone with larger pores on their face will be terribly impressed with the end result as it only does minimal blurring duty it seems. At first my drier skin loves the texture but I was surprised how oily my t-zone and lower jaw line got about three hours into the wear. The texture does have me doubting it’ll curve super oily skin and in my experience may even create shine and oil.

Interesting idea but I think Miracle Blur is a better product.

L’Oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Pore Vanisher just didn’t cut it for me. Love the texture but the actually mattifying and blurring abilities are called into question after my tests with it. You might wish to pick it up if you find it on sale and give a try for yourself.

If you do, I’d love to hear what you think!

Available now at drugstores.

Just way too many different products that have to be layered on top of each other nowadays. They keep creating new needs and coming up with new formulas. If I can get the porefessional from benefit for 30 why would I pay 25 and get L’oreal’s pore vanisher?

    • Jana

I’d say that you may purchase the LOreal product because it is about as close of a dupe as you’re going to get and it is five dollars less for almost twice the product.

        • Liz

The Porefessional is $30 for a 0.75 oz size; a 1.5 oz size would be $60 then. The L’Oreal product is 1.4 oz. so the “dupe” is comparable for $20 to a $60 product.

I am 53 years old have medium sized pores.I tried the last generation blurring product by Loreal and did not like it. It was hard to clean my skin afterwards. The blurrer treatment felt more like makeup and the youth code more like a skin treatment, more natural. I love the matte finish. this is only my first we using it and I can notice a difference I will continue through the month to see if my pores are more noticeably reduced. I’m for the first time optimistic about a poor reducing product.

I haven’t tried any of these products so I can’t offer any thoughts or experience. However, Narine mentioned Benfit’s Porefessional and I saw a recent comparison video of it to the new Maybelline’s Baby Skin. The tester said that while they felt different on the skin the results were the same in terms of masking pores and helping makeup go on well and stay put…and the Maybelline product was only $6.99. May be worth a look! Thanks for your detailed review Muse!

While I am skeptical of the pore size reduction claim, I am also seduced by it. I have sebaceous filaments (score!), so if it can help battle those little mothers, count me in. Also, I am singing the Galaxy Glue jingle in my head now. 😉

Omg, I STILL want to rock some satin pants like Concepcion! In the comfort of my own home, of course…

I was so glad to find your review of this product; I have been using Miracle Blur (the oil-free one) and have had many compliments on the overall look of my skin ~ I’m 56 but was never a sun-worshipper or smoker, so now I’m reaping those benefits),not a miracle product by any means but I like it well enough to re-purchase (have been using this tube almost daily since 11/1, still a bit in there!) Had never used a “primer” of any sort before this. I have been seeing the commercials for the Pore-Vanisher and wondering if I should try it next, but I think I’ll just stick with the one I’m using!
Thank you for saving me time and money!

Hi Anne! Thanks for sharing and commenting today! I really liked Miracle Blur as well I’ll be honest you’re best with it because Pore Vanisher just wasn’t what I expected or wanted…! you’re most welcome 🙂 I’m glad I helped!

I just had a free little thing in a magazine and I decided to try it, for someone who actually doesn’t have good skin or nice little small pores to begin with I really haven’t had good experience with many products cause my skin still sucks.

Anyways decided to give it a go, did I just put water on my skin? May as well have it did nothing 🙂 shocking

I just tried a sample of this product this morning. I’ve never tried the Benefit Porefessional, so I can’t compare to that, but to me this feels like a dupe of Too Faced’s Primed and Poreless. The texture, color, and smell are almost exactly the same, and it seemed to perform very similar for me. Both products feel very silky and absorb quickly, and do help visually reduce my pores. I do wear the Too Faced product under makeup if I’m doing a full face, but I actually prefer to wear this alone without other makeup (although I don’t do this every day, just on days I want my skin to look a little more “flawless” but still natural). I looked at the ingredients – it looks like the L’Oreal has fewer silicones if you’re trying to avoid those (2 compared to 6 if I counted correctly) and is oil free (the original Too Faced Primed and Poreless has Camellia Oleifera Seed Oil and PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil – I like this as I have very dry skin, but they do have a “pure” version which is supposed to be oil free and better for sensitive skin). The Too Faced Primed and Poreless also has retinol, which I like. Neither of these products contain any SPF so don’t provide any protection from the sun. Too Faced is $30 for 1 oz. so the L’Oreal is a little bit better deal. I have a couple more samples at home to use before I can say whether I would switch to the L’Oreal over the Too Faced – will have to see how it holds up over the course of the day.

Just noticed on the Ulta website that the ingredient’s list is diferrent:

Dimethicone, Water, Glycerin, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Isononyl Isononanoate, Alcohol Denat., Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, Butylene Glycol, Lauryl PEG 9 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone, Boron Nitride, Silica, Silylate, Phenoxyethanol, PEG/PPG 18/18 Dimethicone, Perlite, Magnesium Sulfate, Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Menthyl Lactate, Lens Esculenta (Lentil) Seed Extract, Bisabolol, Fragrance, Dextrin, Dimethiconol, Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Eperua Falcata Bark Extract, Farnesol, Limonene, Disodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Alpha Isomethyl Ionone, Citronellol, Aluminum Hydroxide.

There are a ton more silicones listed, and it contains denat. alchohol (very drying). Not sure why the ingredients are different?

I use L’oreal Pore Vanisher and I like it but I just got the Physicians Formula CC Correction+Cover Makeup Kit (because it was on clearance) which includes a CC cream, CC concealer and CC powder. I was wondering if you would recommend wearing the pore vanisher under the CC cream
