Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Stick Review & Swatches

Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Stick

Maybelline welcomes six new shades of Master Glaze Blush Sticks for Spring 2014 to their permanent Face Studio Collection. Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Stick ($8.99) is hopefully a better option to our needs for a drugstore blush stick after the horrifying fiasco of Revlon Baby Stick. Let’s face it what the drugstore world needs now is more blush sticks because the selection is a lacking.

Let’s take a look at the Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Stick and see what the good word is.

Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Sticks

I’m gonna throw it out there and say Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Sticks are a little smallish for their $10 price tag. These are a tiny chubby swivel up blush stick which house 0.24 oz of product. I mean for $12 or so more you can grab a Josie Maran Argan Color Stick which has 0.55 oz….there are mid and high range options that run a little more in the blush stick genre but you also get considerably more bang for your buck.

These are a permanent part of Maybelline’s Face Studio Collection so don’t worry about them disappearing although the shade selection is a little limited now I imagine if they do well Maybelline will likely release LE shades here and there.

Apparently they contain shea butter which gives them their creamy glide but I will say they powder dry down I experienced did cling to my drier areas a bit so not completely a dewy finish for me but more of a satin powder one. The two shades I tried had a good deal of pigment at first application but sheered out as I blended but they are buildable and have a very natural finish that’s flattering. I get around three to four hours of wear before I see a good deal of fading and intensity lost but that’s very common for me when it comes to cream blushes anyway.

I’ll actually go ahead and get crazy and throw it out there that these in fact remind me very much of NARS The Multiple! The consistency, shimmer and glow factor, and even the formula, application, and wear are very similar for me. Looking at them they appear a milky shade sans any sparkle or shimmer but…beware! Maybelline says they contain contain liquid shimmer pearls aka just plain old glitter to me. This is not noticeable indoors but in daylight you can see a good deal of silver shimmery glitter on my cheeks when I applied. Much like The Multiple’s finish! Granted they have a very beautiful glow to them but the shimmer is noticeable on cheeks as well and that might be a deal breaker for some.

If pretty glow-y cream blushes are your deal Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Stick is a nifty product. Wear time is iffy for my drier skin and the shimmer factor can be annoying but the creamy consistency, easy to blend formula, no nonsense application, and easy access at the drugstore makes them an appealing new product to check out.

Tried them?

I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Hard time finding them?

Ulta.com has them in stock now!

The swatches look nice! The formula sounds a bit like the Chanel cream blushes except with shimmer. I think I want to try these!

I agree that there needs to be better cream drugstore blush options out there. I love the shades here but I cannot do glitter face out in the light. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

I saw these at Ulta over the weekend but didn’t pick one up. I’m kind of glad now that I didn’t because if they only last 3-4 hrs on dry skin then they will probably only last 2 on my oily/combo skin! Even though the colors look really nice, with that short of wear time it just isn’t worth it.

you might have more success Jessica! my skin just doesn’t love cream blush AT all 🙂

I’m actually wearing the Plums Up shade for the second day in a row. I’m kinda meh about it. The shimmer is not too overwhelming but I feel like the formula is not build able enough. I layered it with a powder blush and it lasted nicely.

could be the powder sheered away the shimmer! 😀 I’m ok with it but yeah, nothing really special here!

This is honestly the first blush EVER that doesn’t make me look clownish, I have Just Pinched Pink and am thrilled, even when I go to get professional makeup done they usually skip blush because it looks so bad

I’ve been using bare minerals blush for years now and I’ve been thinking of switching because I want something more pigmented and longer lasting, do you think this would be a good switch or are there better products on the market?? Btw I go to your blog whenever I am interested in a new project, I love it!

I picked this up in the shade “warm nude” As I wanted to use it as a quick contour..Applying straight from the tube the top of the product crumbled…ugghhh! Pretty much nothing can be done to fix this!!!!!!!!! Bought it at target so Im basically out because they have no return policy I consider this defective..I really am digging the color. Just bummed that it crumbled and smooshed the way it did

I LOVE THIS BLUSH! the color I have gives me just the right amount of color and leaves me with a sexy dewy sparkle that I’m obsessed with!!
