Milani Power Lip Gloss Stain Review & Swatches
Milani Power Lip Gloss Stain ($6.49) is a new hybrid liquid lipgloss and stain formula that provides lasting color, shine, and moisture to lips.
Part gloss, part stain, and tons of pigmented color these cute little pens will be launching at CVS in Feburary for Spring 2014.
Take a look!
Actually at a glance I thought Milani Power Lip Gloss Stain was actually a pencil kinda like Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Color Balm so I was surprised they are actually a pen with a liquid gloss inside.
These are quite tiny and hold 0.09 oz of product. They have an attached lip brush and you can twist the bottom of the tube to dispense the gloss into the brush. Be careful as you twist because the product flows very quickly so you might make a mess or too much product will flow into the brush. Just twist slowly!
These are available in eight total shades and nary a single one suffers from lack of pigment. ALL of them have incredible pigmentation and full opaque coverage. The creamy consistency applies flawlessly without tugging, being too dry, or having an patchy or uneven appearance. Milani took the idea of a liquid lipstick but applied the elements of a good glossy formula to it. Of course, you have the shine of a gloss here but the thicker consistency and the pigmentation is that of a liquid lipstick. This isn’t a sticky or tacky formula yet wear time is good four hour to five however, the colors are so intense I had an issue with them migrating around my upper lip area so a little transparent lip liner isn’t remiss in keeping color in place around my lips. Color is very smooth and even which surprised me as color this intense sometimes looks a little uneven or fall into the natural finer lines of my lips.

In regards to the staining effect I felt like the longer I wore the product the deeper color was on my lips when the product finally wore away. However, the stain left behind wears for a short time and fades at around an hour or so.
If you like intense glosses I’m positive you’ll get right on board with Milani Power Lip Gloss Stain. The intense pigmentation, nice wear time, and high glossy shine make them a great little budget pick up for those that love dramatic lip colors!
These will be at CVS in February.
Will you haul them?
