It’s not a dupe but for some reason Milani Sugar Glaze Statement Lipstick reminds me an awful lot of Diorific Royale Long Wear True Colour Lipstick!

Milani Sugar Glaze Statement Lipstick is one of several new permanent lipstick shades that Milani is launching at CVS this February for Spring 2014 and the formula suffers a bit from dryness but the color, oh lawd the color!

Milani Sugar Glaze Statement Lipstick is a delightful shade of golden pink! Think NARS Orgasm but with more pink and you have the shade! It’s rather stunning…! There’s lovely fine golden shimmer laced into the shade and the soft delicate pink offsets hints of that the golden peach undertone that makes this shade stunning to say the least.

I adore it!

Problem…

The formula.

It has a rather dry formula with a satin finish that tugs during application and accentuates the natural finer lines of my lips which results in a less than smooth finish. It feels a little gritty as well which is odd because there isn’t any glitter here and the shimmer that is in the formula is very, very fine.

My solution?

Apply a clear gloss on top so that you get a smoother finish and a bit of hydration and moisture to keep less than moist formula hydrating through its four hour wear.

Sometimes you run across a unique shade that you MUST make worth and that shade is Sugar Glaze for me. It’s a stunning shade and was worth the hassle of the application and dryness!

It looks a lot like Mac’s Bombshell to me, which applies like a dream!

I love a lot of Milani’s cosmetics, particularly the powders and blushes, but I cannot handle the smell of their lip products! They usually perform well, are beautiful shades, and are affordable, but I cannot handle that scent!

Hey Musey, if you like Orgasm-esque shade for the lips in a better formula, may I suggest Revlon Lip Butter in Peach Parfait? It’s gorgeous, although probably not as pigmented as this Milani one.
