Physicians Formula Super CC Cover Powder Review & Swatches
Physicians Formula Super CC Cover Powder ($13.95) finishing powder that’s formulated to correct age spots, blemishes, uneven skin tone, redness, dark circles, discolorations, fine lines, dark circles, and tired skin while protecting it with an SPF 30 rich formula.
Yeah, it’s a multitasker.
Available in two shades (Light and Light Medium) Physicians Formula Super CC Cover Powder will be launching at drugstores for the Spring 2014 season along with a new Super CC Cream from the brand.
Take a look!
I’ve always had fantastic success with Physicians Formula powders. Last year Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Cosmeceutical Youth Boosting Mattifying Face Powder was a formula I really enjoyed upon its release and still use to this day. I also love the old mosaic powder that PF used to have (or perhaps they still do?), it was HG (holy grail) for me for a long time.
Physicians Formula Super CC Cover Powder comes in a dual compartment compact featuring the powder on top along with a mirror and small brush located in the bottom. I do a lot of complaining when it comes to the brushes that Physicians Formula includes with their products but the ones with their powders are always brilliant. This is a short hair, dense brush that allows you to sort of “shave”, for lack of a better word” the powder onto your face. This results in a beautiful airbrushed finish! The brush is dense but doesn’t shed nor is it scratchy on my face. It quite reminds me of the shorter bristles you’d find on the equally awesome Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Airbrushing Kabuki Brush.
The formula of the Super CC Cover is very soft and silky. It doesn’t cling to my drier areas and has a soft even finish. The powder itself has color correcting shades in it so you’ll find spatters of pink, blue, and yellow. Although I feel like these small spatters are too tiny to actually correct major skin issues such as ruddiness or darkness. You’ll find this is sheer but has enough pigment to even out skin tone and create a very nice base for makeup. It is best suited as a finishing powder over BB Cream or Foundation but can also be worn as a very sheer layer of makeup should you desire. If you are wearing alone just don’t expect it to cover or correct major problems.
Physicians Formula Super CC Cover Powder has one major problem though..or at least a problem for me. Typically the Light Medium shade is an excellent pick for my skin tone but this actually has a very pasty, chalky finish and doesn’t suit my skin tone at all unfortunately….! Sadness!
Overall, Physicians Formula Super CC Cover Powder is a nice powder but I’m question its color correcting benefits. It might be a suitable pick for setting the CC Cream that is releasing along with it but to actually address color correcting on its own? Not happening…! This has a good texture but I’ve actually seen much better from Physicians Formula powders in the past.
This will be available at drugstores shortly (or may already be depending on your location).
