Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eye Primer Review & Swatches
Heads up oily lids time to haul yourself some Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eye Primer! You NEED this eyeshadow primer if you work with pigments, shimmer shadows, sparkle ones, or metallics as it creates the longest most crease-free wear evers!
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eye Primer seems a little gimmicky at first. You know seems like the brand decided they were going to set out and re-event the wheel to make it seem more interesting….ya know, cream eyeshadow primer is so last year let’s make a liquid elixir to make it even more interesting!
I admit it, it sounded unique but it also sounded like it wouldn’t work.
Originally Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eye Primer was bundled up with Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow because let me tell you those bad, bad boys need all the help they can get during application and wear.
Recently, Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eye Primer became available all its lonesome and a stand alone purchase for use with sparkle and metallic eyeshadows. It’s basically a nifty tool for creating a foiled eyeshadow look but let tell me you it actually has a ton of uses and it seals eyehadow on like nobody’s business.
Housed in a small jar with a dropper you can use this in a few different ways. It’s best paired up with shimmer or metallic shadows but you can use it with powders as well. If you’re using loose pigment, metallic, shimmer, or sparkle eyeshadows simply hold out the back of your hand, drop to drops of the primer on it, and take some of your shadow and mix with it. Now use the back of your hand as a palette of sorts to mix stuff together and from here you can “paint” color onto your lids. At first it creates a beautiful foiled look and you can be finished that’s it. However, if you like you can build and gently tap your lids so it dries down and doesn’t foil. This creates a super sparkly effect. I’ve used the primer with products like Bobbi Brown Sparkle Shadow, MAC Pigment, and L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow and it creates a really solid finish to the shadows so they stay locked on and crease-free all day and they look as marvelous after eight hours as the first time I applied them.
For powders you can actually gently tap a small amount of the elixir directly on your lids, it’ll set in a few seconds, now follow up and apply your eyeshadow. It basically acts as any eyeshadow primer would just in a different texture than you might be used to with other primers you’ve used in the past.
It doesn’t feel uncomfortable, sticky, or strange. It just creates a smooth workable canvas for your eyeshadow to adhere to. It really seals eyeshadow in place well which leads me to believe it’ll work a treat for oily lids.
It’s a very versatile tool as you can use it to foil with, mix pigments, and just to act as an excellent base between your lid and shadow!
I thought it was a bit gimmicky but Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eye Primer is worth a look at! A solid 12 hour wear here without creasing or losing intensity, yeah, that’s a good day in eyeshadow wear land for me!
Likey!
