The Tarte Be MATTEnificent Amazonian Colored Clay Matte Eye & Cheek Palette is beautiful inside and out (dontcha just love the beautiful compact it comes in).

This palette features eight eyeshadows (two of which can be used as eyeliners) as well as brand new Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Elevated.

Eyeshadow:

  • Dream in Chocolate
  • Don’t Stand Black
  • Sand Out From the Crowd

Honestly Tarte is one of the first brands that convinced me that matte eyeshadow weren’t born in sin. Matte’s are my chosen eyeshadow finish but Tarte has a very silky easy to blend beautiful formula so I THINK the Be MATTEnificent Amazonian Colored Clay Matte Eye & Cheek Palette is going to be a winner kids.

Available now at Ulta, Ulta.com, Sephora, Sephora.com, QVC.com, and other retailers.

Will you be grabbing it?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!! A matte palette from Tarte?! Must. Haz. NAO!!!! this is so pretty and at my age, I’m all about the matte!! Thanks for the heads up Muse – will begin the search immediately if not sooner! 😀

  • Christina D.

Hey there and Happy New Year, Sister Muse! I was checking out this palette on-line yesterday since I love matte shadows best of all by far, but I’ve never purchased anything from Tarte because of the dreaded “Made In China” label. Do you know if this is guilty of same? If you have it and can flip it over and take a look at the back and it turns out NOT to be made in China, let me know and I will be purchasing it ASAP!

    • Isabella Muse

Happy New Year dear! I don’t have it 🙁 sorry sis but as soon as I get it I’ll def let ya know 😀

  • Krutika

Question for ya muse! So do you think the eyeshadows in this kit are similar to the ones that are going to be in the second shipment of the bow-and-go tsv?

    • Isabella Muse

i don’t have the second bow and go so no idea? and don’t even have this in my hands as of yet either so would be hard to compare by promo images alone sorry.

        • Isabella Muse

sorry…the bow and go doesn’t ship until April so would be hard to compare the two products with that release so far off.

  • liz

I just got this palette yesterday, its lovely! to answer the where its made question … Made in USA assembled in Taiwan. Hope this helps! Thank You for all that you do Muse! Your website is amazing! 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

aw liz thank YOU so much! and THANK YOU! Christine is going to be very happy you replied 🙂

  • Barb

ooo love it… smart of them… matte palettes are so difficult to find… and their colours are usually VERY pigmented so I’m thinking this will be a must have!

  • Dee

This is one I have to try. Thanks for the post! My wallet doesn’t thank you, however;)

    • Janelle

I blame Isabella whenever my checking account dips under $200. Classic projection! It is Isabella Muse’s fault that I have no self-control 🙂

  • Deb

Love mattes and love a small palette like this. Just wish they would come out with other color options. C’mon Tarte, you’ve been around long enough to know that a lot of us can’t pull off the rabbit pink eye and the plum bruised eye! For the love of all of the makeup gods, can someone please do a palette that isn’t covered in pink and plum? Thank you!

  • Kaitlyn

I actually ordered it yesterday and it should be here Friday!!! It almost seems like Tarte’s answer to the UD Naked Basics palette. This one is much better suited for my preferences though! It has a plum!!! I doubt I’ll use it alone since I don’t like all matte looks on me. However, I think it’ll be great to use with my very LARGE stash of shimmery single shadows or with other palettes! I can’t wait to get it in my grubby little hands! 😉 Also, can we just talk packaging for a moment?!?! *swoon*

    • Isabella Muse

the packaging is gorgeous couldn’t agree more! I’m so jelly 😀 enjoy it my dear!

  • Christina D.

Thanks, Liz, for letting me know it is indeed not made in China. I hope you like the palette and I will def be making my first Tarte purchase now!

P.S. And thanks to you, Muse, for this great site!

    • Isabella Muse

AW SIS! I love ya <3! 🙂 enjoy! I'll have swatches soon just spoke to Tarte about it.

  • Candice

Oooh, I want nothing else than more options when it comes to matte palettes! Thanks for sharing

  • nilda m.

do you know when will this palates be in the sephora stores (besides the website)?

  • Kierstyn

The thing that bothers me about Tarte is the amount of limited edition or palette exclusive blushes. If I could, I would own every single Amazonian Clay blush, and there are so many more amazing colors in these limited edition palettes, but I don’t want to buy the palette just to only use the blush.

    Le sigh

  • Pamela

Aren’t matte palettes to die for? I just put it in my basket but not sure I want to pull the trigger just yet.

Muse, can you tell me how you’re notified when new products are available at Sephora? I know new arrivals are added each week (on Tuesday?) but it’s not usually listed right away on their “New products” page. Do you simply search each brand individually?

    • Isabella Muse

I didn’t actually get this from Sephora I got it as a pitch from the Tarte PR Team Pamela..it arrived yesterday via email and I set up a post this morning 🙂 the mattes are awesome! they are so silky and buttery smooth! 🙂

      • Isabella Muse

oh and ps the link I used was created via linkshare if you’re a blogger and use it you can just search the product within the linkshare dashboard and the product comes up 🙂

        • Pamela

I’m not a blogger myself so I have to depend on bloggers like you to update me. 🙂

I think I might have to get this. Though some of the colors come off pale (though who isn’t pale in the dead of winter), I think it’ll work with a lot of my more sparkly colors.

          • Isabella Muse

aw thanks…! 🙂 Sometimes I get lucky and oh Sephora and see new stuff but lately there site has been kinda crappy since the upgrade and I never catch the new items they put up! blah! I hope it’s nice! I don’t do mattes well but quite excited to check this out 😀

  • Avalith

This is so beautiful yet simple it makes me wonder why no other brands came up with something like this already! It has all the shades anyone can use!

  • Jen_m_sunshine

I received mine yesterday and am wearing the shades today!! Really like the soft, subtle look on the eyes as this palette will pair great with a bolder lip. I will caution anyone with a med -dark skin tone as these most likely will look ashy or not show up well. I am very fair and they show up well on my skin but the look is still soft on me (which is the intent I think).

  • Krutika

So I bought this a couple of days ago at my local sephora, but I don’t know if I should keep it or not lol.. Th shadows are extremely silky but I have tan skin sooo I feel like the lighter shadows look a bit ashy? The blush is amazing and so are the liners but I dunno! I am so confused! And I ordered the new foundation but the colors are sooo off.. I wish they would swatch the shades on qvc instead of just showing the models and pictures :((

  • krankenheim

OH MY GOSH MUSE! I know you’re a girl just like me, just a girl who loves makeup. And as fellow girls who love makeup, let me tell ya, you won’t regret spending a few of your hard-earned dollars on this palette.

You have GOT to share your experience with this AMAZING new formula with your loyal readers and fans. And the bonus — you get to use and wear the most amazing thing to hit the cosmetic counters since … since, I don’t know what. I was pretty excited about Naked 3 and was one of the first to get it when it launched on UD’s website. And I love it, don’t get me wrong. But this Tarte Be MATTEnificent palette, compared to my excitement of the Naked 3 palette is to the freaking MOON! And that’s saying a lot. I’m a die-hard Urban Decay fan from way back to the “Does Pink Make You Puke?” and “Burn Barbie Burn” days.

This just hit shelves at Ulta and Sephora this week. Please consider picking it up even if you don’t decide to do a review on it. But I have a sneaking feeling, Muse, that you’re going to be just as excited about this palette as I am.

    Cheers and stay pretty!

    • krankenheim

One more thing, Muse! I just want to point out that this is Tarte’s first ever matte makeup palette. And I wanted to make mention that this shadow formula is fan-freaking-taaastic on oily lids! The clay formula just seems to sponge it all up, leaving your lids with a gorgeous crease-free, long-wearing color that doesn’t quit!

    • Isabella Muse

hi there krankenheim 🙂 I got it and completely agree! Reviewing it today actually! It is truly a great palette 🙂 your excitement is addicting hehe 😀 I couldn’t agree more about it! I’m not a strong matte lover but this is truly a gorgeous palette ;D

        • Isabella Muse

hey kranken thanks for sharing your thoughs/review :-D! Very helpful! I loved it as much as you and I agree even without primer the shades wear true and strong without creasing or losing their intensity 😀

  • Leslie

Hola Muse! I’m not catching up on some blog read and I had to come here first! LOL Bought this weeks ago and I have to tell you, eeeh! LOL They are super creamy, soft, easily blendable, however it does have some major fall-out issues. Not deal breaker for me, bc the quality is A++ you know? The blush however, WOWZA!!! NO BUENO! No pigmentation whatsoever! Useless, as it does nothing on my NC30 skin! Yet with all this, I STILL LOVE THE PALETTE! I love matte’s and i love how BIG THE SHADOWS ARE, not to mention the beautiful packaging!!! hAVE A GREAT DAY! -Leslie

    • Isabella Muse

hey leslie 😀 yayyyy! so glad you love! 😀 sorry to hear about the blush!!!!!!!! I loved it! I think it def might be sheer on nc30 for sure though 🙁 I’m so glad you liked the shadows though 😀 wahoo!
