Wet n Wild Shimmer Take On the Day Eyeshadow Primer Review & Swatches

I own, use, and really like the original Wet n Wild Take on the Day Eyeshadow Primer but I’m really not into the Shimmer version. Don’t kill me. This is actually quite pigmented so you can use it as a cream eyeshadow of sorts if you like. I didn’t feel like it added any real shimmer to my completed powder looks though but it did lock, seal, and hold eyeshadow for a solid eight hours without creasing or fading so it works just as great as the original formula. Since the color is a bit dark and adds a smidge of sparkling color to lids it’ll intensify the shade of your own shade and give it a bit more vibrancy.

I didn’t feel like the finish was shimmer but had more of a frosty metallic look to it however, this doesn’t really translate to what you are wearing over it. I didn’t really like it because I prefer my primers transparent and another reason was the formula. Although it works as well as the original I didn’t like the thicker, creamier texture of this version. It kinda felt oily going on and I felt like I was taking too much time to blend it in just right where as the original was a super quick wham, bam, thank you ma’am application this felt more like I was blending, blending, blending to get just smoothest possible finish. It just felt like work.

If you loved the original I’m sure you’ll like this version especially if you’re an Urban Decay Sin fan girl or guy! Although darker than Eden the concept is kinda the same. It does add intensity to shadows, does keep them crease free and very vibrant, but I’m not keen on the creamier, thicker texture myself.
