Wet n Wild Shimmer Take On the Day Eyeshadow Primer Review & Swatches

Wet n Wild Shimmer Take the Day Off Eyeshadow Primer5

Looking for a little dupe of Urban Decay Eden Primer Potion? The new Wet n Wild Shimmer Take On the Day Eyeshadow Primer ($4.99) might just be the ticket! This new eyeshadow primer is a dark shimmering shade of mauve that quite reminds me of UDPP Sin.

Take a look!

Wet n Wild Shimmer Take the Day Off Eyeshadow Primer

I own, use, and really like the original Wet n Wild Take on the Day Eyeshadow Primer but I’m really not into the Shimmer version. Don’t kill me. This is actually quite pigmented so you can use it as a cream eyeshadow of sorts if you like. I didn’t feel like it added any real shimmer to my completed powder looks though but it did lock, seal, and hold eyeshadow for a solid eight hours without creasing or fading so it works just as great as the original formula. Since the color is a bit dark and adds a smidge of sparkling color to lids it’ll intensify the shade of your own shade and give it a bit more vibrancy.

I didn’t feel like the finish was shimmer but had more of a frosty metallic look to it however, this doesn’t really translate to what you are wearing over it. I didn’t really like it because I prefer my primers transparent and another reason was the formula. Although it works as well as the original I didn’t like the thicker, creamier texture of this version. It kinda felt oily going on and I felt like I was taking too much time to blend it in just right where as the original was a super quick wham, bam, thank you ma’am application this felt more like I was blending, blending, blending to get just smoothest possible finish. It just felt like work.

If you loved the original I’m sure you’ll like this version especially if you’re an Urban Decay Sin fan girl or guy! Although darker than Eden the concept is kinda the same. It does add intensity to shadows, does keep them crease free and very vibrant, but I’m not keen on the creamier, thicker texture myself.

Available now at drugstores.

Weird – This came out as a limited edition product last summer and I stocked up because I loved it. Is it going to be part of the regular line now?

i’ll have to check this out for a less expensive option. also, i think you might mean UDPP Sin. Eden is that matte primer. 🙂

Muse, I think you might be mistaking Eden PP for Sin PP. Eden is a matte nude color that leans towards yellow, but Sin is a shimmery champagne pink, similar to Sin eyeshadow.

Eden’s the yellowy matte primer. This WnW primer is like a lavender version of Sin or Greed, the shimmery UD primers.

I might pick this one up, I picked my UD primer horse (Greed) to use every day, and it’s been discontinued (of course). So, while cultivating a hoard of Greed tubes that would make Smaug envious, I might as well see if I’ve got a product alternative that would let me thumb my nose at UD in the process.

I think you UDPP in Sin. Eden is a matte similar to Mac PP in Soft Ochre and such 😛

I thought Eden was a matte? I may be wrong! Sadly, this doesn’t work for my oily eyelids! Sigh!

  • Carly

That looks more like Sin than Eden to me. Eden is a beige tinted matte primer.

  • Danii

You’re talking about Sin, not Eden. Eden is an opaque, matte skintone primer. Sin is the shimmery UDPP based on the popular Sin eyeshadow.

sorry danii, was a long day yesterday with a good deal of multitasking so errors happened on this post 🙂
