Clarins Opalescence Face & Blush Powder Review & Swatches
Clarins Opalescence Face & Blush Powder is a new limited edition powder that multitasks as a blush and face powder all in one for Spring 2014.
Take a look!
I actually have a good deal of powders like this from Clarins already that I absolutely adore however, I’m unsure if Clarins Opalescence Face & Blush Powder has any major differences in shade when compared to other compacts like the Clarins Graphic Expression Face and-Blush Powder Palette and Clarins Palette Eclat Face Blush Powder aside from the packaging design and the imprint of the powder.
Clarins Opalescence Face & Blush Powder comes in a slightly raised compact with an reflective opal face plate. The packaging is very pretty and a little different for Clarins as they did away with the traditional gold compact for this release. Inside the powder has a larger and smaller polka dot design with a dominant shade of peachy beige with a slight golden over spray. The dots that make up the imprint are not an over spray. There’s a darker tan bronze shade in the larger dots and a reddish coral in the smaller.
As I mentioned above the shade isn’t terribly different from other Clarins Powders I already own so this is good if you too own them as it saves you a little bit of money. Unless you have a little case of the collect ’em all gotta have every single one disease that I have. The dominate peachy beige here flushes cheeks with a natural shade of peach that’s quite gorgeous but again, very similiar to what you’ll see from past palettes.
The good news is if you missed out on other LE powders now is your chance to try one finally. I highly recommend checking it out because I think the color is such a pretty natural shade that’s ideal for low key looks when you don’t want a heavier blush on your cheeks that may take away from a more dramatic eye look. It’ll be a bit too sheer for darker skin tones but it is an ideal shade for pale, fairer, and medium skin tones.
This has a lovely scent much like Guerlain’s sweet violent fragrance and I also took note that the powder was a bit dense compared to past releases. It isn’t as finely milled in consistency however, it blends and applies flawlessly none the less.
They call it a Face and Blush Powder and in many cases it might work as a facial powder of sorts for a skin tone that might have peach undertones but on my own complexion it only works as a blusher and I think that it is best suited to this. Clarins has done compacts like this in the past that work beautifully as a facial powder but I don’t think the Opalescence Powder is one. It’s best suited to add color to cheeks but not all over your face. I also think it is one of those palettes you might pass by because you think, “Oh pretty highlighter but I don’t really need another pretty highlighter!”…when in fact it isn’t a highlighter at all!
I must admit I do love Clarins Opalescence Face & Blush Powder! It’s just an easy to use product that can’t be overdone and leaves cheeks naturally tinted. The color is a charming shade that adds peachy warmth to my cheeks.
Loves it.
I do highly recommend it if you don’t already own any of the other limited edition compacts. However, it might prove a skip if you do as you might feel it is repetitive.
