Etude House Magic Any Cushion Launches in Korea

Etude House Magic Any Cushion Spring 2014

If you’re a fond fan of Etude House Baby Choux and you really enjoy Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion you’ll likely love the idea of the brand new Etude House Magic Any Cushion that got a release in Korea recently.

Etude House Magic Any Cushion takes the packaging and formulation of Precious Mineral Any Cushion and adds in the color correcting benefits of Baby Choux for a new application experience.

Etude House Magic Any Cushion

Earlier last year Baby Choux became available in a tube formulation much to the delight of fans. The old packaging released with the Etude House Sweet Recipe Collection was darling but a little messy and unhygienic.

I think the idea of Etude House Magic Any Cushion sounds even better as it’s completely portable. However, I think that Baby Choux can easily be overdone and the rather cool brightening effect you get from it can become pasty and chalky in finish…which makes me slightly wary of this new Cushion format. I think you could potentially over do application with packaging like this.

On the other hand I am curious to try it….

Etude House Magic Any Cushion like Baby Choux comes in three shades which are berry for paler skin tones to act to even out and brighten skin, peach to brighten and whiten skin tones, and mint to ease redness.

Etude House started pre-booking Magic Any Cushion earlier last week but as of now it is available in the Etude House website and I’m sure online sellers will likely get it in stock soon.

I’ll review it shortly for you!

Can’t wait for your review Muse! This looks interesting to me. I’ve never tried anything from this brand. This looks like the Amore Pacific which I have and love to pieces. The Amore Pacific is so portable, perfect coverage and application. I would love to explore some color correcting base in the same style.

omg I tried the Baby Choux and I didn’t like it at all. It was all gritty and dried my face. like what you said chalky and pasty. :S i really wanted to like it. I don’t know if maybe mine was a dud or something ’cause it didn’t go on smooth even when I used very little of it. Maybe I’ll try it again. im not sure haha but the packaging for this one is super cute! can’t wait to read your thoughts on it

Yea…I tried the green baby choux and it was meh..
I end up looking pasty. rubbed it hoping it will blend well and some grit from the choux came off eww…
I hope they improve on the formula, coz any cushion works amazing for me

Hi, I was just wondering if there was an online store, besides ebay, that sells Étude House?

  • Salamanda

I am SOOOOOOOO skeptical of these “color correcting” face products! I understand it in theory, but I just can’t seem to make a green tint on my face work, no matter HOW I apply it. It could very well be more of a “user error” issue, but still. lol. Color correctors are my kryptonite!!! (lol SO DRAMATIC! =))

I’m a huuuge fan of the Mint Choux base,it does such a fantastic job of covering up redness!! But I won’t be picking this up,I prefer it in the jar,or tube packaging. I use it as a base for my foundation rather than a stand-alone product,so this isn’t something I’d need to pop in my purse to take along with me.

I’m actually surprised they bothered to release it in this cushion form, when it seems like it wasn’t long ago they released the tube packaging.I hope they won’t be discontinuing the tubes and focus solely on this version! D:

    • Isabella Muse

oh god don’t say that I’d be disappointed if they didn’t keep the tubes…I think the cushion is a bit overkill! Nice if you travel with it maybe?! but can’t see myself taking it with me really?! Unless I was going on a trip! But the tube is just as easy to pack!

      • Georgia

I would be too! I’m not too keen on the cushion packaging.Plus when you look closely,it’s a bit of a ripoff, product wise. The tubes are 35g of product, and the cushions are only 15g,but like twice the price (ㅎωㅎ); The refill cartridges are probably not as steep a price difference, but still, ouch!

I just got a tube of peach choux and i love it! it really smooths out the look of my skin, though i just wish it was a little more moisturizing. It smells amazing and delicious though. I thought the idea was to use it as a base so to take it for touch ups would emphasize the pastel color on the skin.

OMGEEE! I adore Etude House and I’m completely intrigued by these! I have the Sweet Recipe Baby Choux Base and it makes me look like a zombie that’s been dipped in flour! Horrible! LOL! But I love it! I love the jar and I love the smell! Like birthday cake or something. Love it! 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

LOL I actually think they meant that as the look! ;-D Try dropping a small bit into your foundation, it really brightens up the entire face used like that ;-D

  • Stacie

Sulli! Anytime I see an Etude ad I think of the drama To the Beautiful You 🙂

      • Stacie

Sadly yes, it was the worst drama that I watched last year. The acting isn’t bad but the story was cliched and poorly paced. Did you watch it?

        • Isabella Muse

oh no the worst!? I didn’t love it but I liked it ok….! I was looking at your blog the other day and it made me want to rewatch Paradise Kiss

          • Cindy

Ahh finally, someone who feels the same way I feel about the Heirs! I really love the actors and actresses but the plot and everything was so cliche. Maybe it’s because I’m a Gender and Women’s Studies major, but Korean dramas aren’t as fun to watch anymore, with the pulling (bordering on abuse) of the female characters around and the jerky-but-ends-up-getting-what-he-wants male leads whereas the really nice guy does finish last.

          • Isabella Muse

lol that seems to be the order of business in kdramas ;-D alpha male+meek shy female=passionate romance

  • amy

I had an Almay foundation *years* ago in this type of packaging, and I had mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, it was actually very difficult to overdo the application, and it went on in thin buildable layears, but on the other, I didn’t care for having to stick my fingers in it every time, and ended up tossing it out long before it was finished, as it wasn’t the sort of product I wanted to keep around for any long period of time. If this is something you’d go through quick
y, I think the delivery system is great.

  • Alanna

how amazing would it be if they had made these look like macarons?! missed opportunity!!

  • bebe

I love, love, love my Baby Choux, so I will most definitely be checking this out. 🙂

  • GlamourMom

I just love your posts about Asian makeup brands! Thank you for so much helpful information. Can you recommend a trustworthy online company for purchasing Asian brands like Etude? I am in the US. I heard that Sasa was good, but I ran into problems with their website cooperating with paypal so I haven’t been able to complete my order.

    • Isabella Muse

hi glamourmom I’ve recommended F2plus1 on E-bay a variety of times for purchases of Etude House and other Korean brands. I’m not affiliated with the seller but have purchased from them in the past with good experiences.
