How are you surviving the weather? I think we got about 14 inches here. There’s snow up to the branches of a tree I have outside the front of my house…! Phew!

I was supposed to head to Gallifrey One yesterday but my flight was cancelled! I was able to get a refund for my plane ticket but not the con tickets sadness!

Hope you’re all warm and safe wherever you are!

I’m so glad you posted this! I found out about the Holiday 2013 palette after it was sold out, and have been trying to buy one that is not ridiculously overpriced (I’m looking at all you sellers on eBay), so this may have to do instead. I hope it’s as cool-leaning with lots of lovely plums…

    • Isabella Muse

I just popped it into my cart…I’m unsure how I feel about this many mattes but I really like the colors included…..the one for the Holidays was lovely but this even looks more gorgeous! and I like it comes with a caviar stick too!

      • Farhana H.

I added this to my nordstrom.com shopping bag too. And I would love to have a mini caviar stick in cocoa for my handbag. But I’m going to wait until March 19th when Nordstrom triple points start. If it sells out before then, I’ll try to tell myself it wasn’t meant to be!

  • Christina D.

Hmmm…now that the initial “WANT!” has worn off, I don’t know if I want to spend $80 on one palette, even with the caviar stick. Might be best to wait for swatches, at the risk of it selling out.

    • Christina

I totally agree with you! I have the other palettes and was going to grab this immediately, but yikes! $80! I’m not in love with the caviar sticks and I’ve never tried that mascara. Still, for a couple of minis, I think that’s a big price increase. 🙁

But…I want that Violet Luster shade. LOL!

  • Fancie

I almost got excited until I saw the price lol. I was so disappointed that I waited until the last minute to check out the holiday one. It was so pretty! This one looks nice too but not $80 nice lol

  • Robin

Very pretty, except for the price. ouch!!!

Reporting from NC Got nine inches of snow. Kids have been out of school since Monday morning. We broke a record for the most snowfall in a three day period. It’s now melting; will be in the high 60’s next week. 😀 Love Southern winters!!!

  • Nicci

Whaaaaat? Laura Mercier, please take all my money! I’d absolutely love to collect all the Artist palettes, but this one has six shades that were in the 2012/2013 holiday versions… and Guava/African Violet were in both of them. As much as I want it, I’ll probably end up skipping.

  • Deb

I already have all of these colors in my LM customizable palettes; they reside permanently in my travel makeup bag which is always packed and ready to go. But of course, I see there are two LE shadows in here so now I’m obsessing over that Violet Steel Lustre.
So sorry your plans got cancelled Muse, but if you haven’t traveled in the last couple of weeks trust me when I say….don’t do it! It’s horrible. My brother passed away and I had to get from Phoenix (where it’s 82 degrees) to Louisiana during that first horrible storm that went through the Deep South. I had five flights cancelled before I was finally able to get there and the funeral had to be delayed for a week because of the weather and the difficulty of getting a flight. Changed planes in Atlanta and it was a zoo! I’ve been watching the weather on the news and if it were me, I would just hunker down and wait for it to be over. My husband and I thought it was the worst travel experience we have ever had, and we have done some traveling. Stay home and stay safe! It’s just not worth it.

    • Isabella Muse

deb gosh sorry about your brother 🙁 jeez…I didn’t know. I’m really sorry. jesus, not only did you have to deal with loss but a delayed funeral and all the crazy travel stuff. Hugs! They actually told me I’d be good to go this morning with some delays but I told them I just wanted a refund because I was terribly scared I’d run into all sorts of issues. We all actually all decided (it was eight of us going) that it was best we not attempt the crazy. I was a little disappointed but I’ve been to Gallifrey One before so I didn’t feel like I was missing too too much…! Oh well 🙂 that’s life…!

      • Deb

Thanks Muse. Yeah, it was a real mess. I totally understand being bummed about not getting to go somewhere when you really want to, but it really is awful out there. We are so spoiled in winter by living in Phoenix, I can’t even imagine how you are dealing with the crap weather right now. But it’s so much worse on the roads and at the airports I can’t even tell you. Smart decision, leave the crazy behind 🙂

        • Isabella Muse

ugh it’s the worst! Yesterday I truly couldn’t get to my office at all! my driveway was covered! I’ve been shoveling all night lol and I wake up and it’s back again with a few more inches ugh ;-D I have a snowblower but unfortunately at this point there isn’t ANYWHERE to go with the snow!

  • Gillian

Oh my gorgeousness. I was so incredibly stoked about this palette until I looked at the price. $80?!?! The Artist Palette wasn’t nearly that much was it? I do like the add ons of the mascara and mini caviar stick, but I’m not quite sure this justifies the $80 price tag.

Dang, I’m still reeling. I understand that the shades and quality of the shadows are that good to warrant a crazy price tag because I’m simply head over heels for the Artist’s Palette I got for Christmas. No, I take that back. I really think $80 is reaching too far.

Sorry for the blabber, I just can’t get over the beauty and the price tag!!! With products like this, sometimes I wish I didn’t even know about them! Be still my heart 🙂

  • Jenn

I love the LM Artists palette from fall, LOVE! But I don’t understand the price jump for a mini caviar stick and mascara. I believe the fall palette alone was $48. So, halving the difference of $32 between the 2 mini sizes just doesn’t seem like a good deal to me! I love the shades and quality though!

  • Stacie

I have the holiday palette and I love it so I will probably purchase this even though it has two of the same shadows-no big deal since African Violet and Guava are beautiful shades.

YEA MORE SNOW TONIGHT (read that SHOOT ME NOW!) I’m in central Jersey and everytime they say 3-5 we get 8-10, when they say 2-4 we get 6-8. I’m adjusting, that makes all men seem a little better endowed no? Sorry, looking for a joke in here somewhere but I can’t find one.

I’m SO over this weather. I’m kind of used to getting snowed out of anything fun on my birthday but this is crazy. I have a ton of coupons and such and I don’t even feel like shopping.

As far as this palette is concerned, I’m not biting. I did just pay $79 for the NARS palette, and I think I lost my sanity for a minute when I hit the “order” button. Well I received it, and I really wanted to hate it, but I don’t. I love it. At least I don’t have ANY of the colors in it so I don’t feel that bad having so many NARS colors in one place.

My thoughts are this about the pricing of cosmetics recently: WTF?
lol – really, I think sales are down because not too many of us still have jobs and we’re just not spending as much. THerefore they raise the prices to make more revenue. It doesn’t hurt the people with money and it just might cure my addiction. Sad to say but I’m buying less.
