MAC A Fantasy of Flowers Lipstick Review & Swatches
MAC A Fantasy of Flowers for Spring 2014 brings us six limited edition MAC Lustre Lipsticks to choose from! I have MAC Naked Bud and Dreaming Dahlia Lustre Lipstick in my hands today and I gotta say I love ’em!
The Lustre Lipstick formula isn’t for everyone but these two shades combined with the lighter texture and finish of the formula and I’m pretty darn pleased.
Do like!
The MAC Lustre Lipstick formula seems to have different results for different folks. I personally like them as they remind me of a tinted lip balm of sorts. They are typically lighter in texture compared to the regular MAC Lipstick Collection but also have a balm-y texture that does make itself known. They typically have a creamy finish sans glitter, sparkle, or shimmer and have a slight sheen finish. They wear a little shorter for me at around three hours but I still really enjoy the Lustre formula none the less. I also like that Lustre will occasionally pop up in vibrant shades such as Dreaming Dahlia and look completely gorgeous on. Typically such an orange-y shade of lipstick would scare me if it was heavily pigmented but since this is a Lustre formula it gives a sheerer finish and looks incredible on!
Dreaming Dahlia and Naked Bud
MAC Naked Bud Lustre Lipstick is another shade I’d possibly avoid if it was a different formula. This is a sheer beige nude that would give me zombie lips if it was more pigmented. But again, the Lustre formula makes the shade more forgivable because it applies sheerer and gives a very pretty peachy beige nakedness to my lips! It does show my natural lip lines though so I’d suggest a hint of gloss to make it the most wearable.
If you’ve never Lustre Lipstick before and really enjoyed tinted lip balms I do recommend a check out of these shades. They are a fresh, natural colors for Spring that give lips a lovely hint of color without over doing things.
Naked Bud
Dream Dahlia
Adore both of these!
I can’t wait to see the other four in this collection!
