Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(Marc)able Full Cover Concealer ($32) is a new concealer that launches for Spring 2014 that’s available in seven shades.

This is a creamy, emollient full coverage concealer infused with anti-aging ingredients. I recently purchased this concealer along with the new Marc Jacobs Beauty The Conceal Full Cover Correcting Brush No. 14 and so far I’m having a good run with it but damn finding a shade to match proved challenging.

Marc Jacobs Beauty ReMarc able Full Cover Concealer

Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(Marc)able Full Cover Concealer could possibly win a spot on my coveted HG (holy grail) concealer list but I couldn’t find a good color match. The medium shades are too dark and the lighter too light….Grrrr! I tried shades from 2 to 5 and could not find a single match for me. Damn! I’d considered combining 3 and 4 but it is quite pricey at $32 so purchasing two shades for the sole purpose of mixing to get the correct shade isn’t terribly appealing to my wallet.

On the upside this is lovely stuff especially if you like super creamy emollient concealers. This is very pigmented so indeed it’s full coverage concealer that will conceal dark circles, fine lines, puffiness, etc…I’d liken the texture to Bobbi Brown Concealer but actually heavier. I think the keyword here is emollient because I think creamy does tricky people slightly and misleads them on the texture. Emollient means it’s more of a heavy greasepaint consistency. This type of texture lends it a longer wear because it is slightly tacky and sticky allowing it to wear a several hours under drier eyes without creasing or fading. On the down side this type of texture is probably not exactly an oily skin users dream. I had small issues blending it due to the thickness so a brush does help things along which is why the No 14 also released with this concealer is a good way to go or even a brush like Sephora’s Pro Airbrush Concealer Brush #57 aids in thinning the formula out and giving it a beautiful airbrushed finish. This is definitely a formula you want to start out lightly with and build slowly as it is extra thick. I find it wears on me a solid nine hours without creasing or fading. I went to a dirty, hot, sweaty club on Saturday night to see an uber awesome brand and this survived the trip without creasing or fading away.

Alive and Young

That being said, Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(Marc)able Full Cover Concealer probably won’t be a product that everyone embraces. I’d say if you like Bobbi Brown’s Concealer you’re bound to adore this because it’s just more of everything you love about that formula. However, if you’ve had issues with Bobbi’s formula you probably won’t like Marc Jacob’s. Drier eyes in need of full coverage will adore this for sure!

It’s available now exclusively at Sephora and Sephora.com.

Finding a good concealer is hard. I like Estee’s new compact. I’m starting to hate liquid concealer cause its a pain to blend when you’re in a hurry.

I did not like Bobbi Brown’s concealer but I do have dry eyes and I can never get full coverage especially with my glasses casting shadows under my eyes.
