Maybelline Almond Aura Color Elixir Review & Swatches
Maybelline Almond Aura Color Elixir is one of several brand new, limited edition shades of Maybelline Elixir by Color Sensational Lip Color launching with the Maybelline Dare to Go Nude for Spring 2014 Collection.
This new Spring 2014 Collection is pretty massive with a little something for everyone including brand new shades of permanent Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow available in six beautiful natural, nude shades as well as new the Buffs Lipstick shades!
Let’s take a look!
Maybelline Almond Aura Color Elixir is one of those shades YOU might pass up because it is a rather rich brownish tone. But the shade has hints of red to it which lends a nice natural warmth to lips. The color will look best on warmer and darker skin tones but medium fair skin tones will likely love it as well.
I didn’t expect to see new shades of Maybelline Color Elixir to launch so soon after they hit drugstores earlier this winter in twenty different shades but here we are with six brand new, limited edition ones to choose from!
Color Elixir has a thicker more moisturizing creamier consistency than L’Oreal Color Caresse Shine Stains and the newer L’Oreal Extraordinaire Lip Color. These have a perfume-y taste and flavor that I don’t find terribly unpleasant. It’s kinda vanillish with creme brulee and some perfume thrown in.
The formula reminds me of a liquified liquid liquid balm that was poured into a tube. They give lips a cushy, plump feel and finish with a nice hydrating feel and a shiny finish. The formula isn’t completely weightless but it isn’t heavy or unpleasant on lips. Almond Aura is completely opaque on first application.
If you like brown shades of gloss this is a fairly nice one that has hints of red!
Don’t forget a back up as the shade is only available for a limited time.
