Maybelline Beige-ing Beauty Color Tattoo Eyeshadow Review & Swatches

Maybelline Beigeing Beauty Color Tattoo Eyeshadow

Maybelline Beige-ing Beauty Color Tattoo Eyeshadow is yet another new cream eyeshadow that launched with the Maybelline Dare to Go Nude Collection for Spring 2014.

This one is a very interesting shade because it actually lacks a ton of color and is more about shimmer so if you hate yourself some shimmer best step away from this review.

At a glance I thought Maybelline Beige-ing Beauty Color Tattoo Eyeshadow would be my favorite shade from this release but after trying it I actually feel like the other colors I’ve tried thus far are a bit better in terms of pigment and formula.

Maybelline Beige-ing Beauty Color Tattoo Eyeshadow is a stunning shade in the pot. This is a golden beige that reflects a peachy undertone with a frosty finish. The shade is quite unique as it has very pretty golden flecks throughout it.

The creamy consistency is dense yet slick like the other shades in the release however, it falls short during application and sets to a slightly patchy finish. The shade also doesn’t come across as beautiful on lids as it does within the pot. I get more of larger shimmer pieces on my lids but very little color. In this case, it’ll make a rather nice base for eyeshadows but might be a bit overkill on lids if you dislike shimmery. I typically have a good wear time with Color Tattoos but this creased a fair bit heading into hour five.

On the upside, if you can get past the patchiness (this might not be an issue for oily lids) it makes for a rather nice illuminating eye look.

I wouldn’t say skip it completely because if you’re like me you just want to own every single shade of Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow they create NO MATTER the consequences.

But you should probably brace yourself for being slightly disappointed with the finish, formula, and lack of pigment.

Own it?

What was your experience with the shade?

I had the exact same problems! So disappointing. I thought it was going to be my go-to eye shadow for days I wanted a natural look, but I think I might actually return it. 🙁

would this make for a good base? like does would the shimmer have an effect on the eyeshadow layered on top of it

any of the tattoos make good bases you likely will dull a bit of the shimmer when shadow is applied on top though.

Aw. Well that’s disappointing. But it looks very pretty on you, Muse. Very princess-y and fairy-like. But I just know that all shimmer and no pigment would annoy the heck out of me and make me feel like an, ahem, call girl.

thanks cat 🙂 yeah, it’s quite a bit of shimmer and no real color unfortunately!

I wonder if they’re all running dry in this color because I’ve heard people love & hate the brown bronze color one from their permanent collection. There seems to be a lack of quality control somewhere along the line for there to be such a difference in the same color. Maybe try buying another from a different store? 🙂
