Milani Anti-Feathering Lipliner Review & Swatches

Milani AntiFeathering Lipliner

Problems with your favorite lipstick taking a road trip around your face? You NEED Milani Anti-Feathering Lipliner!

You know the drill…you haul out a shade like MAC Riri Wood, put it on, and man you look amazing! An hour lady it’s on your upper lip line, your chin, hell maybe even your cheek. My lipstick likes to migrate as far as my forehead on occasion!

This is all a true story, I have had gloss and lipstick on my forehead in the past. HOW this happens I don’t know but I’m just extra lucky (or clumsy) I guess.

Keep it locked and sealed down with a clear lipliner especially a nice cheap as chips one like the new Milani Anti-Feathering Lipliner!

I happen to hate lipliner with a passion. Reason? My lipstick wears away and I’m left with color outline around my lips. Hello foolish looking! Especially since I dive right into my day and don’t take a moment to breath never mind touch up my lipstick and gloss. This means it fades yet my lipliner has a knack for sticking around through Armageddon.

Milani Anti Feathering Lipliner

So needless to say I do not line my lips…!

However, transparent lipliner is totally awesome. If I wear bright reds or really bold lipsticks there’s a 50/50 chance they are going to migrate and take a trip around my upper lip line and possibly my face.

Milani Anti-Feathering Lipliner is a transparent lipliner to prevent these issues! This keeps my lipstick and gloss from feathering and can even double up as a lip primer or a liner feel prior to lipstick application. Best part? When my lipstick does wear away I’m not left looking all stupid with a color outline…! This is completely clear and transparent, no one is the wiser it’s on my lips!

Best part?

It’s $4.49 price tag!

Grab it now at drugstores or online at milanicosmetics.com.

Awesome! this looks like a inexpensive alternative to Urban Decay’s ozone lip liner. I may purchase the Milani one once I finish my UD one.

  • Alex

Products like this are also amazing lip primers if you fill in your entire mouth 🙂 Tacks on wear time even to lipgloss.

  • Shane

LOL lipstick and gloss on your forehead had me dying XD Despite always wearing bold lips, I never wear lipliner out of laziness. But since this is clear I’m assuming I can put it on rather lazily and still achieve results that aren’t so obvious — even if I shape it a tad wonky LOL

    • Isabella Muse

girl it has happened…! I swear it ;-D honestly! 😀 me neither, I just don’t like lipliner plus like you I feel it is an extra step and I’m too lazy ;-D this is clear, applied in a snap, no problems with lipstick on my forehead ;-D

  • Veronica

You’ll get the ring around the lips if you only fill around the outside, but I always fill in my entire lip if I wear lipliner. Helps the color last longer. 😉

I’ll be glad to try this! UD’s Ozone lipliner is a godsend for me, but with it’s price tag, I’d be happy to find an equivalent product for cheaper. 🙂

I tried this as an alternative to my holy grail Paula Dorf Perfect Illusion for lips that’s discontinued now. I tried it with one of those new MAC Huggable lipsticks and it seemed very sticky. Lipstick didn’t move all day, but I’m not used to that kind of stickiness. With the Paula Dorf one it was dry and nothing moved. I have to try it with a drier lipstick (like RiRi Woo or Ruby Woo) to finalize my opinion of it, but so far it’s just not the same as my perfect Paula Dorf Perfect Illusion! May have to keep trying others until I can get similar results as I got with PD!

    • Isabella Muse

sticky? really? I didn’t get that…!? Too Faced also makes one! and benefit! 😀 but more $$ 🙁

So excited to try this! Since this is clear, had anyone tried lining on the OUTSIDE of the lips to keep gloss from feathering out?

  • Beverly

Hi Muse, How does this (Milani) one compare to the Sally Hansen one as far as drugstore brands go?

  • Sara

I just picked this up with my extra bucks at CVS without reading reviews. After this I am glad I did! Of course with the low price point if it sucked it wouldn’t be the end of the world-but I still worry about wasting extra bucks on something I won’t like 🙂

  • Chrissie

Thank you for featuring this product, I have seen it in my local Walmart store but I was hesitant to grab it as I have recently purchased one from makeup forever, It’s great to know that this product is promising and least inexpensive, I might have to go and buy to do a comparison lol 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

my pleasure chrissie! I have the MUFE one too 😀 but this is considerably cheaper and a perfect switch up for that one 😀

Love the anti-feathering liner BUT find it impossible to sharpen. Trying to do so results in The loss of a great deal of product plus leaves a lot of sharp plastic points that makes this product difficult to apply.
Bottom line – I bought three originally – will NOT buy another till there is a change in the in the product housing and I hope it’s soon

    • Monica

The only time a little broke off for me I just smeared the blob all over my lips…lol! It worked!

  • Emily

I just bought this and positively love it. One question… I’ve used up the initial pencil point and can’t figure out how to get more out. What am I doing wrong?

  • Monica

Yes, the casing is very plasticky. However, both of mine gotten eaten clean through by my very naughty pet mini pig. She loves makeup!

  • Carla Norris

I have practically built a shrine at which to daily worship the Milani Anti-Feathering Lipliner!
The stuff is magic! In fact, I’m wearing it today with a red lipstick and red gloss, and my lips look ridiculously perfect, for no apparent reason – NO lines are visible.
It’s as if I’m just a genius at applying my lipstick, though I *totally* am NOT.
Seriously, it looks like I spent the better part of an hour painstakingly applying my lipstick with the most crazy-expensive high-end lip brush on the market, then “cleaning up” the margins with concealer and a flat-edge brush, etc.
Nobody would guess that it’s actually the work of a modest little pencil that you can get at the drugstore for < $10.00 USD.
The only drawback is that I have no earthly idea how to sharpen it. If it were retractable, Milani wouldn't be able to keep it in stock!

    • Isabella Muse

ha you’re adorable 🙂 I def love it too especially with pigmented lipsticks as it keeps everything nice and clean ;-D You can use an eyeshadow sharpener to sharpen the tip!

      • Carla Norris

        What’s an “eyeshadow sharpener?”
I need to do something fairly soon – tip of my magic pencil is going doown, dooown, with daily use!
If Milani to come out with a retractable version of this little won(at the same price), I would be their mindless slave.

        • Carla Norris

I meant, of course, “If Milani WERE to come out with a retractable version of this little wonder (at the same price), I would be their mindless slave.”
          What can I say?
I turn 55 in July, so it could be the eyes *or* the brain. lol

        • Isabella Muse

sorry don’t mind me, tired! I mean eyeliner sharpener!

          • Carla Norris

I figured that it was probably something like that!
Anyhow, I just ordered an Ulta sharpener that I hear is a dupe of the UD Grindhouse, and I also ordered an Ulta retractable lipliner that’s clear/colorless. The durn liner is $8.00, so I’m kind of hoping that I don’t love it more than the Milani one. :/
