NARS Love Blush Review & Swatches
NARS Love Blush is one of four new blushes that was released for Spring 2014 exclusively at Nordstrom with the NARS Final Cut Collection. It truly is turning into a season of blushes with so many brilliant blushes releasing from a variety of brands this year like the new Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush, Clinique Cheek Pop Blush, and Make Up For Ever HD Blush just to name a few.
As obsessed as I am with NARS Blush I have to say that the Final Cut shades were a little disappointing. I know folks have a love/hate relationship with Orgasm but I always felt the shade was very unique (up until recently because man MAC Petal Power is glowing it up around my house) and I think I expected some of that specialness to rub off on these newer NARS Final Cut Blush shades.
But….
With that being said I will say they quite nice essential colors. Today I’m taking a look at NARS Love Blush so let’s see what the good word is.
NARS Love Blush is a pretty dusky shade of rose aka tea rose. It’s a very warm shade with a satiny semi-matte finish sans any shimmer or sparkle of any kind. By NARS standards the blush is unique to their catalog as I don’t think they really have a shade like or have released one like it in the past. It is unique to my own collection that’s for sure as I don’t have a ton of shades like this. It does border on a very sophisticated shade that looks very “grown up” on cheeks and provides seamless color that’s very beautiful! It does remind me slightly of the the Balm Frat Boy but I think Frat Boy is a bit darker and perhaps a little more “fun” where as NARS Love is more about a lighter elegance.
The formula is quite lovely with a dense consistency that still manages to have a finely milled texture that isn’t powdery. I feel like it toes the line slightly in finish with some a bit of a matte texture to it but also quite satiny as well. Plus matte blushes tend to apply patchy on my drier skin but this has a soft, even, seamless look. It wears for a solid ten hours on my skin without fading or losing intensity.
I’m not sure I’d call the shade extraordinary simply because I thought the Final Cut Blushes would bring a bit more to the table. I will say it is a very beautiful shade that creates a gorgeous dusky rose flush on cheeks!
It’s available now at Nordstrom and Nordstrom.com.
