Sephora Liquid Moisturizing Skin Concentrate1

Sephora Liquid Moisturizing Skin Concentrate ($22) takes on the Asian toner lotion trend this Spring with a new formula that acts as a serum with the lighter formula of a toner.

Take a peek!

Sephora Liquid Moisturizing Skin Concentrate

Lotion toners are a very popular part of Asian Skincare and one of the first steps in skincare application prior to any other products. Of course, toners in our world aren’t exactly the same formulation as those found in Asia. Typically our toners are liquid but ones in Asia are a thicker, gel with a runny consistency. Sephora Liquid Moisturizing Skin Concentrate embraces that formulation with a liquid-like formulation that has the lighter texture of a toner but the gel-like consistency of a serum.

This is one of the first steps in your skincare regime that will help skin to absorb moisturizer, serums, and anything else you follow up with it. It’s created with a plant based sugar to promises to smooth, refine, and illuminate skin and provide up the 25% more moisture to skin. Of course, the box promises a good deal of benefits including evening skin tone and more a more radiant complexion. I wouldn’t say either of those promises ring true however, it is a fairly good prep for moisturizer.

According to Sephora studies this added a good deal of moisture and allowed skin to retain that moisture. I apply it as I would my Hada Labo Tokyo Replenishing Hydrator by pouring a small amount into my hands and pressing it gently onto my face until it fully absorbs.

Unlike Asian lotion toners this is considerably more runny in comparison but still easy enough to work with. I liked it well enough though and felt like it was an easy pick up at Sephora. It’s a nice prep for moisturizer as it allows my moisturizer to absorb more easily and it adds extra moisture as well so my skin is softer and more supple. It is however, heavily fragranced and that could be a deal breaker for those with sensitive skin.

I don’t know if you necessarily need Sephora Liquid Moisturizing Skin Concentrate but it is a nice little extra if you have drier skin and need more moisture!

Hey Muse I have a question for you! So I just bought the Hado Labs Serum on your recommendation and so far so good! It’s really helped with my unusually dry skin.

Prior to buying this my night routine was to 1st apply rosehip seed oil, and then on top of that apply my regular moisturizer. Should I apply the Hado Lab Serum, then the oil, and then the moisturizer? I just wasn’t sure and I figured you might be a good person to ask. 🙂

hi meghan! yay happy to hear it! I’d go with the hada labo first prior to anything else and follow up with the rest of your regime…give in a few minutes if possible to sink in before applying your oil followed by your moisturizer.

I LOVED this stuff! I use it in place of a moisturizer when the weather is sticky. I’m in mourning that it’s discontinued
