Tarte Amazonian Colored Clay Liquid Foundation1

Tarte Amazonian Colored Clay Liquid Foundation launches tomorrow in the Tarte Color Your World QVC Today’s Special Value.

This brand new foundation will be available in five shade selections and gets a world wide launch in the Colored Clay Set and the only way you’ll be able to get your hands on the foundation for now. And believe me, it’s well worth a pick up as the set includes 7 delicious products from Tarte including Amazonian Colored Clay Liquid Foundation for $59!

Although it gets huge raves Tarte’s 12 Hour Full Coverage Foundation is sometimes a little too dry for me and offers a bit too much coverage but I ran into no such issues with the new Tarte Amazonian Colored Clay Liquid Foundation!

Tarte Amazonian Colored Clay Liquid Foundation is a lightweight full coverage buildable cream foundation that comes housed in a screw top jar that quite reminds me of the packaging that Tarte Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation comes in! I think the packaging is a little messy…it has a stopped located on the lid and a larger spout located in the center of the jar which releases product. My first use things were a ok but with continued use the foundation starts to drip along the rim of the jar and ends up all over the well. It’s not really travel friendly that’s for sure…! I also wish I had somewhere I can dip and blend my brush around but unfortunately I’m left to dipping and using the back of my hand to thin and blend color into my brush. Needless to say I think this might do better in a bottle or a tube of some sort versus a jar.

Tarte actually gives you a brush to apply this. The brush is a slanted, short handled brush which is ideal for brushing on product and blending it out. Since the texture is runny yet thick with full coverage you want something to thin out the foundation for you and the brush comes in mighty handy to do this. This is the type of product you want to start lightly with and build slowly because it is very, very pigmented. It is customizable in a sense as you can go very sheer with it or build it to full coverage should you wish.

I find the finish is slightly dewy on my drier skin and doesn’t cling to drier areas. It has a beautiful flawless finish when applied correctly and brightens skin as it evens it out and if you have blemishes, redness, etc it’ll easily conceal these areas for a perfect look. It also features an SPF 15.

I got about 5 hours of wear from in a warmer climate. I actually wore it over the weekend in a warmer environment and saw about five hours of wear from it before it showed minor signs of wear. Of course, I didn’t set with powder so I’d say powder would give you an extra hour with it. In a colder climate I got six hours without any issues and even at hour seven it was still looking fairly fresh without oxidation or fading.

I have drier skin so this is definitely a dream product for me. I wanna call it a cream but it is more of a liquid foundation and that shines through in its consistency. I think many people might want to compare it to Maracuja Miracle Foundation but I think it’s considerably different with better coverage and a more no makeup finish on my skin.

I can see this becoming apart of my daily foundation staples. I really liked the coverage, the application, and the overall look of this on my skin and paired up with Tarte Colored Clay CC Primer you have a very nice flawless canvas for your other makeup products!

Likey!

Muse, color wise would this color suit a Mac NC35? The Light looks a little darker which makes me fear that the Medium will look a little too dark.

    • Isabella Muse

i’m not really familiar with mac’s shades so I’m not sure Sylvia, I think it is lighter than NC35 but take that with a grain of salt…!

      • Sylvia

Thanks anyway!!! I’ll give medium a go ( I can’t resist this set is cute and practical), just to be safe 🙂

        • Isabella Muse

sorry, I really don’t depend on mac for any base because all there shades run orange-y super dark or too beige for me…..! I don’t even really know my correct tone in a mac foundation maybe nc30!? not sure…! Medium seems better suited for NC35 I THINK! Let me know how it works out!

  • Dusty

I’m going to check this one out! I have dry skin and love tarte products… I don’t have enough of them 🙂

  • Nicole

Hi muse!!! I am a medium in IT Cosmetics and light-medium in the tarte amazonian clay foundation. Which color would you recommend? Thanks!!!

    • Isabella Muse

I’m not really sure nicole as I only tried the light, it’s the only shade I’ve seen in person…there’s also a fair so unsure if light medium would be a good pick for the fair or the medium shade.

My kit is on its way I ordered the fair cause im the whitest white girl out there! Fingers crossed its not too yellow 🙂

  • Tiffany

I was on the fence about this, but I think you just convinced me. It’s an irresistible value, but I wanted to know more about the foundation! 🙂

  • amy

This sounds *exactly* what I’m looking for in a foundation! I’m probably going to wait until it hits stores, as I want to be sure the color/undertone works. Foundation is the one product I won’t buy blindly.

  • Lisa

Oh no! I just ordered this last night after hemming and hawing for over a month. Wish I knew then it was the dreaded dewy finish. I have the opposite opinion to you of the 12-hr Amazonian Clay foundation (too hydrating, not enough coverage), so this will probably be a no go for me.

  • lyn

This sounds like something I would like but I don’t quite fancy the packaging. Definitely will check it out when it is available in Malaysia.

  • Amber

So glad to hear you liked this! I’m having such a hard time with my dry winter skin, and finding a fuller coverage foundation. I ordered light, and from your swatch above, I think it will be perfect! Can’t wait for this set. What a great value!

Bought the set on QVC and fell in love. The texture and finish is exquisite. I really like the creaminess of the liquid and the full coverage without a cakey feel. It leaves a flawless finish & “real skin” look. Any idea of when this product is available in stores?

    • Isabella Muse

I’d say Summer 2014 or Fall 2014 or even as far as next year. Tarte typically does a world launch on qvc and a few months to an entire year later they launch to their general collection and into shops like sephora, ulta etc

Do you know if they’re going to release this in all the other shades they usually have with their foundations? I received my shipment and the CC primer is perfect in Light but the liquid foundation is a little too light 🙁 I tried the Medium CC primer in store and that was too dark/orange for me which is why I went with Light for this set. SIGH… why am i always in between colors? lol love the finish of this foundation though!

        • Kelly

I’m in the exact same boat! I ordered the set in Fair because I knew the primer in Light would be too dark for me, but now the Fair foundation is too light :/

          • Reggi

Ugh but too bad I love the blush and don’t want to return it lol my friend told me to just use some bronzer over it… Not sure how well that will work! 😛

  • Jane

I love this liquid foundation. Had given up on liquids but this one is amazing. I will keep using this.

  • Lina

Just in case anyone wondering, this foundation in on sale in hautelook RIGHT NOW for $24
