The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil Review

The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil1

The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil ($26.99) is all that and a bag of chips. I’ll be the first to admit that I like it more than any other facial oil I currently used and tried in the past.

They call it 8 hours of sleep in a bottle and for us duller, dry skin folks that’s the truth.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil

Ok, essentially this is kinda lacking in the Vitamin E and probably has more fragrance than Vitamin E but the texture is wickedly hydrating and works incredibly well for my drier skin and indeed makes me look like I had eight hours of rest when I only had four so I’ll take it!

What The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil does is creates a surface on your skin to help entrap moisture which in turn replenishes much needed hydration on your skin.

The formula is a serum blended with a combination of oils. It’s easy to apply and absorbs fairly easily into skin as well and doesn’t have the heavier texture of a facial oil. The texture is kinda watery with an oil-like feel that’s a combination of a skincare serum and oil all in one thus bringing you the hydrating benefits of an oil but the quicker to absorb formula of a serum.

It’s actually more hydrating to me than products like Argan Oil. It’s slick but doesn’t make me feel greasy or oily. Mind you it is most suitable for nightly use as it is too rich for using in the AM however, it does absorb fully and doesn’t leave an oily film behind.

I find it adds a good deal of moisture which my drier skin sucks up. In the morning my lackluster skin looks more lively, rested, and youthful.

Some will argue that the amount of fragrance in the product outweighs the actual benefits of the formula but I felt like it added a good deal of moisture to my thirsty skin and in fact made it look considerably less dull. Now it does have a fresher, pleasant scent but this might be too much for sensitive skin users.

It comes housed in a bottle with a small dropper for application. It can be used as the first step your nightly regime after cleansing your face and followed up with any other products you use.

Overall, I think the Body Shop did an excellent job with Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil. I only paid $14 for it during one of their many, many sales so you’ll likely never have to pay full price for it as they always have a great deal going on!

I’m slapping a Muse Approval on it.

Looks like vitamin e is the 3rd ingredient, can’t be that lacking…?

Thank you so much for this post! Been to try this serum needed to thread a review first.

Do you think it would be a good night “creme” for me aka somebody with combo /oily skin?

do you use argan oil already and do you like it? If so you might like this. But I do think it is more moisturizing than Argan oil. I wouldn’t say it’s going to add oil but it is rich. The Body Shop says anyone can use it but I think it’ll benefit drier skin most!

I haven’t specifically used Argan oil, but I have used some different facial oils (Tsubaki, Marakuja). I need something that adds moisture but isn’t oily, and I’ve found that the oils I’ve tried kind of sit on my skin and leave it greasy even though I don’t use much. I have some dry patches, so I want something very moisturizing (they’re stubborn) but not very oily. When you said that it seems to get absorbed by your skin very well, but was moisturizing that appealed to me heavily.

I’m glad you wrote the review and deciphered the ingredient list for us. This product will most likely go on my “no” list, but have you tried The Body Shop’s new Moisture White Shiso line? They have it in the serum form and bb+serum.

I absolutely HATED this stuff – it made my skin breakout into cystic acne for the first time in my life! Never again! I am a fan of the rest of the Vitamin E range though – their regular serum is my favourite! vx

Same here, I think the fragrance in it is what broke me out. I haven’t been using it daily but I have been using it maybe 2/3 times a week for the past month and it can’t be anything else. Oh well

I have oily skin and use this at night. Beautiful, soft skin in the morning. I love it!

I will try anything from The Body Shop because they use good ingredients. It’s downright frightening what they put in women’s cosmetics nowadays in the USA.
