E.L.F. Studio BB Cream Review & Swatches

ELF Studio BB Cream

E.L.F. Studio BB Cream is a newly launched BB Cream formula that I personally believe is E.L.F.’s Tinted Moisturizer in new packaging. As I really like their tinted moisturizer I don’t mind so much.

This contains Vitamin E as well as jojoba, aloe, and cucumber so skin is nicely hydrated during the wear however, for a BB Cream formula it is a little weak in the coverage department.

Have a look!

E.L.F. Studio BB Cream ($6) is available in six shades and supposedly acts to prime, protect with an SPF 20, and moisturizer skin with a multitasking formula. Personally I’ve tried and used their Tinted Moisturizer formula in the past and this is apparently it but in a new package.

I will rant and say they should have just named it Tinted Moisturizer as this is in fact what it is. It’s misleading to consumers to dub it BB Cream as well as confusing.

On that note I will say I like it as a tinted moisturizer. It’s creamy, sheer, lightweight, very breathable, and feels very nice on skin. It has a soft dry down on skin that doesn’t accentuate drier areas and evens out skin tone and even brightens slightly. Wear time is shorter at around 4 hours with fading entering hour 5 to a point I felt like I didn’t have on foundation at all. I imagine in warmer weather it’ll wear even shorter.

Needless to say I like the way my skin looks in this. I don’t need a ton of coverage but I rely on BB Creams and foundations to brighten and even out my duller skin. This does the trick perfectly and has a lightweight consistency that feels like I’m not wearing anything at all. If you’re looking for natural coverage this is a great pick up.

However, if you’re looking for a true BB Cream experience this probably won’t be a good gateway as BB Creams available in Asian are considerably more pigmented.

Overall, E.L.F. Studio BB Cream is more of a tinted moisturizer and you head into a purchase with that in your mind you’re likely to not be disappointed. This provides sheerer, natural coverage that’s great for days you don’t want or need a ton of makeup. However, those desiring the fuller coverage a BB Cream can offer might find this formula disappointing!

It’s available now at www.eyeslipsface.com.

Despite being labelled a “BB cream”, you can find this product on their site under tinted moisturizers. xD The ingredients for the bb cream & tm are different, so in that sense, they aren’t identical products.

I have tried their tinted moisturizer in the past, and I did like it as well. It’s a bit disappointing though, that it seems like this
“new BB cream” is actually the same product… and is also double the price. I love that there is a now a pump though! I would totally wear this on the days that I’m just home or running errands. Thanks!!

I have not tried it, but I do like tinted moisturizers, so I may give it a try. The only issue I have is that some of them leave a very sparkly finish, which is not great when you live in a hot climate. Is this one like that?
