Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Mousse Makeup

My newest fav foundation award goes to Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Mousse Makeup ($34)! Having been burnt in the past by products like Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam I wasn’t sure I was ready to take on another mousse makeup. Dream Nude Airfoam totally dulled my skin and was just terribly sheer and messy to apply.

Now…I won’t say the Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Mousse Makeup isn’t messy because it is slightly however, the coverage it provides and its ability to brighten up my duller skin make it a win!

Available in 12 shades, Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Mousse Makeup is an air infused mousse foundation. Yes, it does squirt out of a can like a hair mousse and does have the foam whipped up mousse consistency of one too. I think its kinda a novel idea having a mousse formulated foundation.

Aside its unique formulation the coverage and brightening ability is also a plus. I do find the texture slightly messy. It kinda pops and fizzes when you dispense it. As it breaks down it becomes more of a runny creamy texture with small air bubbles in the mix. I typically dispense it on the back of my arm and use a flat foundation brush to apply it. It does need to be shaken well prior to dispensing as I noticed it the pigment color separates from the base when I don’t shake it well.

Color is at first sheer but buildable. It covers minor imperfections, evens skin tone, and brightens up my entire face with very natural, translucent breathable coverage. It is one of those foundation products that gives the appearance of a second skin finish with a very natural, seamless finish. Color doesn’t cake, nor does it cling to drier areas. It’s a very soft, smooth finish with a slightly satiny texture that feels soft on my drier skin. The coverage is very breathable and gives your complexion that your skin but better appearance.

I personally don’t need a tin of coverage as I don’t have blemishes or redness. However, I do rely on my foundation to brighten up my duller skin and even out my entire complexion. I really like how well this brightens my entire complexion up and provides just the right amount of coverage to even out my skin. And if I need extra coverage? I can build it very easily and it still looks natural and feels lightweight no matter how much I apply.

The wear is a little shorter for me at just four hours and fading a fair bit into hour five but I’m not sure I entirely mind as most bases that aren’t BB Cream formulated tend to wear a shorter time for me.

Overall, Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Mousse Makeup provides beautiful weightless, natural coverage and gives my skin a lovely finish!

Do like this one.

    Muse,

This looks interesting! I passed on the Dior because of some “eh” reviews I read and because the color selection was too dark for me.

I feel like I remember reading you don’t usually set your foundation because your skin is on the drier side… but I might be totally making that up, lolz. Do you think the wear time would be extended with a setting powder? How do you think this would fare on combination skin?

Love you and your reviews always!

    • Isabella Muse

that’s completely true, I avoid setting my makeup with powder because I have drier skin. I def think wear can be extended with the use of powder 🙂 combination skin should get with it fine as it does have a soft, satiny finish. Love ya back 🙂 if you try it let me know 🙂

Wow, your swatch of this looks gorgeous! I love the look of the finish and color.

I absolutely *adore* mousse foundations! My first experiences were in the early-90s, with Max Factor. A few years back, Milani did one one that was amazing, but sadly DC’d… I will likely be picking this one up soon, as I really like the luminosity, and have also been looking for a dewier finish. I, too, need a foundation to brighten & even out my skin, but not necessarily a lot of coverage,so this would make a nice “everyday” product. Now, I just need to make sure there’s a decent shade match… At least I have a counter near me!

It looks very natural and dewy and fresh perfect for summer and spring, I wouldn’t mind giving this one a try!

Like amy, I, too, love mousse foundations. Elizabeth Arden made one eons ago, as did Chanel, and I miss them so much. I will definitely have to pick this up. I don’t have any blemishes or redness either, and want the sheerest of coverage. This looks amazing. Damnit, Muse, must you always tempt me? LOL, I’m kidding. This will be great for summer especially.

hehe 😀 consider it a friendly gesture between friends? 😀

I’m gonna have to tip off my mom on this one… She swears by anything Elizabeth Arden puts out, serious! Not for me though, mousse foundations always end up giving me that lovely permanently sweating look on my oily skin, ick!

I absolutely love the mousse. Suggest anyone having a problem do not use your fingers. A damp sponge gives great results, in my opinion.
Elizabeth Arden I dot like a bit of sparkle. Cannot remember the name of the product are used in the early 80s it was a high end from the department stores had a little sparkle in it and then they discontinued it. I think it was a sparkling peach or sparkling apricot. Please look into this it will be a big seller.
