Hard Candy CC Tinted Moisturizer Stick Review & Swatches
Hard Candy CC Tinted Moisturizer Stick ($7) will likely remind you of Tarte Colored Clay CC Primer as they both contain a purple and green center core that addresses redness and dull skin. The main difference here is Hard Candy’s CC Stick is a good deal more moisturizing where as Tarte went matte. and let’s not forget the way cheaper price tag!
Let’s take a look!
Released with the Hard Candy Spring 2014 Collection the new CC Tinted Moisturizer Stick is available in six shades and will be part of the permanent collection.
This stick has a marbled purple and green core that looks mostly green to be with a surrounding color base. It’s supposed to reduce redness while providing coverage to even out skin tone. I’d say coverage ran sheerer but there’s enough pigment here to do a fairly nice job perfecting and brightening skin. I’ll be honest no way is Hard Candy CC Tinted Moisturizer Stick a swap out for Tarte’s version but it really isn’t a bad little product either. I liked it! This swivels up and can be dabbed or swiped directly onto your face and blended out. It’s fairly creamy with a soft moisturizing finish. It doesn’t create shine or oil on my drier skin and doesn’t accentuate drier areas. I purchased it in the Light Medium shade and it was a little too yellow at first but once applied it oxidized slightly and adapted to my natural skin tone. It brightened up my skin very nicely and evened it out. Coverage isn’t really all that buildable but there’s pigment enough here to perfect. I’d say core center is a little useless as the product is emollient and the surrounding base ends up sliding over and covering the core so you aren’t really seeing any benefits from it in my experience. It wears for about four to five hours on me but likely will fade away faster on a warmer day.
For lightweight coverage I’d say I liked Hard Candy CC Tinted Moisturizer Stick! It brightens and creates a perfected finish on my skin and that’s exactly what I like in lightweight coverage.
I’d try it! For $7 bucks you can’t beat the price.
